He can keep doing what hes doing because I really enjoyed my visit, food and beer here. Mike was really great as the bartender/waiter and was knowledgable about their menu and beer selection.
I had the Reuben and the best fries in the universe, and honestly the Reuben was maybe the best one in the universe I've ever had! It was great portion sizes and a nice hangout spot with good beer options. I had the cider and a cherry sour which were both great.
My wife had the revolution peach sour which was also great and the east coast sub and the mac and cheese which she loved.
Great food and beer options, a lot that are from Indy breweries as well. They did not have any porters or stouts on the menu at this time, but did have a couple brown ales I did not try. A darker beer would be welcomed with the deli meat as a good pairing if I had anything to critique.
Really enjoyed this place and we will be back.

We have seen reviews for Fat Dan's for a while and finally went. We ordered a few Chicago dogs, corn dog, mini corn dogs, Mac and cheese, loaded tots and loaded fries. The loaded tots and fries were amazing, the corn dogs and Chicago dogs were pretty good and the Mac and cheese was surprisingly good. The waiter was one of the better ones we've had lately. All in all, a good experience.
Great casual atmosphere for families. The food comes out fast. The fries and tots are fabulous. Brisket sandwich is always a winner.

Absolutely love Fat Dan's. They provide a great greasy spoon type menu with actual wage quality meat and produce. Don't get me wrong, this is by no means 'healthy' but the quality is A+. You really feel like you're eating at an authentic Chicago greasy spoon. The atmosphere provided is always fun and the staff is very helpful and up beat. Every time I want a good beer on tap and very tasty food I go to Fat Dan's. While the physical atmosphere at the two locations is very different the experience and quality is equal at both. Highly recommend this Indy gem, try them out!
Best chi sports theme pub ever,food is top notch as i am from Chicago area. UPDATE ... 8/1/22 TODAY i ordered two chicago dogs ... never insult my intelligence and support ... what happened to rash of bacon or can you not order it on grubhub? SECOND those hot dogs you sent were not vienna beef dogs... its a very distinct taste and a bigger hotdog will not ever make it a vienna beef ,ill leave it at that ... dont ruin my fav bday spot almost 7 years str8.
Love this place! Food is amazing, great atmosphere, and the servers/bartenders are professional but fun and happy.
Only reason I am giving 4 stars is that they only stay open until 10p during the week even if there is a Cubs game on! Also, an all draft pint night special would be nice during the workweek too.
Please, go visits Fat Dans as it is truly a taste of Chicago!
I called ahead and placed an order. They accidentally gave my order to somebody else but told me it would be 5 minutes and they would have it ready. After looking around, the table spacing and masks being worn by all of the staff made me comfortable enough to eat there. The food was good, the service was great, and the beer was cold. I definitely feel comfortable enough to eat there in these difficult times. Oh, and the portion sizes are generous.
