Axum Ethiopian Restaurant - Indianapolis - Photo album

The atmosphere here was really cool. The bar tender / server was quite friendly and helped me understand the menu. The portion was large enough for two.
I went to the Axum Ethiopian Restaurant in order to try new food 🥘. The place was so clean and organized. The service was excellent as well. We ordered a Chef’s recommendation meat and vegan combos , 1 for 2 and 1 for an individual. Very tasty and colorful food, we really liked it! The bread was not
Lunch meeting midday at Axum Ethiopian Restaurant was an excellent choice. We had the chicken and vegan special which served two with enough it could have served 3-4 people for a light lunch and great conversation. The ambiance was quiet, plenty of seating, and clean facility. The service was goo
The food is amazingly tasty and the lamb was very flavorful and strong, just how I like it. It was decently tender. Recommended.
I ordered takeout- a lamb dish and the deluxe vegan combo. The gentleman taking the order was very polite and made sure my order was ready when I needed it (i did not give them a huge lead time so I was relieved and grateful!). When I went to pick up, I found the interior very beautifully decorated
My first time coming was a roller coaster. The food and service was AMAZING but one of the homeless people went into my truck and stole my phone and money. The owners were MORE THAN understanding. I later returned and the food and service was still Amazing. I admire the Goddess that runs it. It seem
Great food, the taste of the flatbread is a bit sour. Friendly service, bathroom and the restaurant was clean. Service was a bit slow, they were out of mango juice, coffee ceremony. They don’t have desert in their menu, only entrees and drinks. Ethiopian coffee was very strong which is expected. I w
I had a hankering for some spicy deliciousness and this place delivered! We had both lamb dishes. #3 is significantly spicier than #9 but both were fabulous....and the lentils!!! The injera was so fresh and flavorful....Run to see for yourself.
Went there for dinner and tried the Began platter. The same was served with injera. Food: The same was like 6 curries served with injera. As this was a vegan combo so the portion was small of each curries. The injera was really tasty and two of the curries. The others were too mild and bland. This
Never had Ehtiopian food until coming here. Got the chef's recommendation meat and vegan platter and it was really good. It's a great way to get a taste of the variety of dishes that they have. The service was very good too. Glad to have found this place online and look forward to going back.
The vegetarian/vegan platter has 8 items unlike most Ethiopian restaurants that have 6-7 items. It's more expensive though. The server took our order on phone for dine in and kept it ready when we reached. Walking out happy with the food and service!
I've been wanting to try some Ethiopian food a while, and finally gotta chance to do it. The food was delicious and everyone working there was super nice and helpful. I ordered no. 9, so you've a reference for the pics.
The lamb Tibs was so tender and tasty. The best I ever had. The lentils were excellent as well. I usually don’t like lentils but the recipe they used made them delicious. We also had the Derek Tibs, I call them dry Tibs were great. I was worth every penny. Definitely recommend.
My wife and I went to this restaurant on a Friday night and being away from Mass Ave, it was not busy at all. The service was quick, although the wait staff can try to help first timers a bit more in selecting dishes. I liked the honey wine which is neither sweet, nor dry, but is smooth to drink. Th
First time eating this type of cuisine. Went with a group of friends. We watched a video ahead of time to learn how to eat the food which is WITH YOUR HANDS! Lots of vegan options. NOT gluten free tho!
Great place and fantastic food. Lots of vegan options
This was an experience of a lifetime! The owners are so amazing and hospitable, and helped guide me through my first Ethiopian food experience. We felt at home right away. And the food… absolutely outstanding. I will be back often. Perfect for celebrating an occasion or date night. :)
Excellent! Order the 3 meat (chicken, minced lamb, beef) + 4 vegan dish sampler (chickpeas, beets, greens, etc.) and add the beef tips. Enough for 3 people. No appetizers or dessert options, all hearty entrees. Must try!
