Stopped in to get a drink while we were shopping and then decided to get some fries. While we waited for the fries the smell got to be too much so we had to break down and get some gyros. Glad we did. They were really good, stuffed with meat. One easily fed two people. I love that they wrap them in a pita. The pita texture was perfect to enjoy a gyro and not end up with it all over your lap and face. Really delicious. I’d also like to call out the service. The person who took our order and cooked the fries was great, even though we kept updating the order. Everything was made fresh and everyone was great. This place really ought to be busier.
It’s decent food. They stay busy so it’s hard to get through on the phone. I ordered a gyro, they were out of the roasted potatoes so was a little disappointed in that.
Gyro was a good size and meat was nice, thick chunks.
I was hungry and not to be biased but the food always tastes better when you have fantastic servers. They had a bad team that didn't care but the new attitude of the crew is superb. I enjoyed the gyro had plenty of meat and super yummy loaded fries! Wait time was long.
Cool little place in Spring Branch. Converted house into. Burger shack. Nice patio with plenty of seating. The buns are very good and really help the burger. Patties seemed to be cooked on a flattop because there is a very nice crust on them as well as being juicy.
It's a quaint neighborhood place that I think was originally just Simply Greek but now it's both the Burger Shack and Simply Greek. They look to be adding hot dogs eventually so it will be Simply Greek, Burger Shack and Top Dog! It was our first time and we went with burgers. The burgers are named after local streets in the area and have a wide variety of combinations. My wife had the "donut burger" and I had the "pizza burger" (sorry forgot their street name). My wife got the donut burger plain and dry and it was really good (I had a couple of bites). The pizza burger had tiny pepperonies on top! The real surprise was the fries. We went with waffle and they were really crispy and seasoned. I don't think I've had a waffle fry that crispy. We thought the food was really great and will be back. I plan to try the Greek menu next. Prices per burger, pita or plate seemed to range from $12 to $15. So a little over $30 for 2 people.
Great innovative ideas on the burgers. Good mixes . Just need a little more tweaks on the follow through to brome legendary. The beef patty was pretty good. The bread ... brioche bun needs a little more help.. toasting it would help... seems like too much bread. The waffle fries... probably just an off day.. all the waffle fries were bits and pieces...I would have rather had 4 to 5 whole pieces than a plate of scraps... over all it was decent.
SB burger shack is a hidden gem. I grew up in Spring Branch, so having the burgers named after the streets here is pretty awesome. The place is like a hole in the wall, mom and pops type of restaurant. The restaurant is surrounded by lots of trees, and I will admit, I got stung by a bee while eating. (BEWARE!) Overall, the burger taste fresh and was really juicy. I enjoyed the waffle fries the most. The seasoning was perfect. 4 stars because they don’t sell bottled waters, they only offer tap. :)
EDIT: This place is under new management and since they've taken over the service and food has been exceptional. They've even been willing to accommodate folks with dietary restrictions like Halal-only. Food is delicious, service is great--highly recommend stopping in for a bite to try the food yourself. You won't be disappointed.
We picked two hamburgers (I-10 and Conrad Sauer). Both were amazing. Hassan is the cook, the waiter and the host ...and everything was just perfect, including the waiting time. I really recommend this place !!
Cool place for spring Branch. Went with the wife and kids. Kids enjoyed eating and they're picky (4 and 2).
I got a bacon cheeseburger, while the wife got the pizza bun burger. I got regular fries and she got the Greek fries (with feta cheese).
Everything was good. I was a little disappointed in my serving size of fries. Buns taste good, although are a bit greasy. Meat is good, but it is a thin patty.
We did get a few slices of cake. Lemon cake was good. Also got red velvet, but that one was dry.
We'll definitely go back. Maybe without kids and sit on the patio. Even though kids weren't an issue this time.
Employees were nice as well.
