I normally do take out, so I don't know much of the dine in experience. But they're food is pretty good! I like that they have vegetarian options. The staff is always friendly. Orders usually take 10-15 mins, not too bad in my opinion. Their smoothies with tapioca are good and they have different flavors. Prices are affordable. Overall great! I always keep coming back. :-)

BEST place to grab food on UH Campus! Owner is a little cold, but she's been at it a while. Her food is brilliant. Go there enough and as soon as you walk in she'll have your usual order written down. I love this place and will probably come to UH Only to eat here after I graduate.

I've never had a bad experience from the dozens of times I've eaten here over the years. Never gotten sick, never had to wait more than 5 minutes for an order, never had bad quality or cold food. The owner always greets us with a smile, is patient when we take a while to decide what we want to order. Yes, it is a little Americanized. But for a college campus, what more could we ask for? Their alcohol is inexpensive, they accept Cougar Cash, and the owner would even cross out the "tip" portion of the receipt to deter people from tipping her. Honestly, one of my favorite places on campus.

Chinese star is amazing because it is open literally every day that nothing else is open. The food is good too and for a great price. Not to mention their smoothies are delicious as well. The food portions are very big so you can save half of your food and have it for dinner or a snack later honestly. The cream cheese wontons and their fried rice is are very good.

Always reliable and well-priced food option. The portions are very reasonable - I don't know how people can say they're overpriced when you get more (and better) food here than you would at, say, Panda Express. The appetizers especially are an incredible deal. You can make a fairly large meal for a great price using just the appetizers. 6 fried/steamed dumplings for $2.50, 6 fried wontons (the cream cheese are incredible) for $3.50, and 8 fried chicken wings for $4.45. Take the wings to go and toss them in a quart or gallon sized bag with some buffalo sauce and they're absolutely incredible. I've never had an issue with them. They're always very generous.

I have been going to C.S. since I was attending UH, which was approximately 11 years ago. I tend to order one specific dish, which is the General Tso's and fried rice, so I can't tell you if their other dishes are as delicious. But I can say this dish is delish, and they are fairly consistent with it (There are a couple of times that the mixture of ingredients was off.). I tend to call ahead and within 10 minutes of calling, the order is ready and hot. The owner is not overly friendly, but that doesn't seem to be her personality. But if you're kind, and strike up a conversation, she responses in kind. They do a good job of keeping the restaurant bused and service flowing.

Amazing food. We have been eating here for more than 20 years. The owners are very nice and always remember us. UH is messing up by not renewing their lease! Somebody is probably getting a kickback from Aramark.

A true UH tradition. Definitely not the best Chinese in town but if you are a broke undergrad student looking for a filling meal on the cheap, this is the place to go. They also have a separate vegetarian menu.

Lo Mein noodles is one of my favorite and Milk tea is too sweet. Fried rice with seafood dishes are really nice and I would prefer to go after 2 pm. Beacuse this place is very crowded at the lunch time

Home cooked food is always a little greasy and delicious just like The Star. You want bland and full of msg then go to panda express, lol. The wonderful, always friendly family who has owned the place since it was in the old building (parking lot now) will make whatever you want @ request. These students who complain about the building don't realize that the alumni before them petitioned to have them moved to the only building that wasn't going to be torn down.
