Su textura, sus colores y sabores son únicos en la ciudad. Además, el servicio es atento y eficiente. Ojo, su ubicación esta al fondo del centro comercial, pero vale la pena encontrarlo. Es una joya en el suroeste de Houston.
The “Cochinita Pibil” ranks among one of the tastiest meals I’ve had in Houston in 26 years. Its texture, colors and flavors make this meal unique in the city. The customer service is efficient and attentive. Watch it! The restaurant is located at the back of the shopping center...but it’s worth finding it. It is a jewel of true Mexican cuisine in the city of Houston.
Doña Tere/Fonda Santa Rosa is the Best!. From what I can tell from the sign outside the restaurant, Doña Tere has just recently changed its name to Fonda Santa Rosa. However, it is the same restaurant and owner.
I have been going to Fonda Santa Rosa for the past several years and can't get enough of it. After living in Mexico city for a year I came back to Texas with knowledge about what "Real" Mexican food is all about.
The food here is so good and authentic, enchiladas verdes with queso fresco, tamales, nopales, aguas frescas, they have everything! They make their own tortilla chips and salsa daily.
The menu is well priced and they also have classic favorites like burritos, quesadillas, etc. Try this place, it will be a wonderful treat!
Never fails me. Being from Mexico, this place never disappoints for meals. Sometimes they don't always have what you want, but anything you choose is excellent. The portions are just right, so you dont feel like you ate too much, just enough to enjoy your food. Always worth going to, my favorite is the mole enchiladas.
Authentic Mexican (DF) food!. This is the real thing! You feel like you're eating in Mexico City! Great food, reasonable prices, sometimes under-staffed but mostly good service. Their tamales are just like Mexico City's! And their cafe de olla is to die for!!!!
Thoroughly and repeatedly impressed!. Having been to this restaurant a couple dozen times now I can safely say that I am consistently satisfied with the flavor, the service, the cleanliness, and the prices! Each day a new flavor of agua fresca is made fresh (sometimes horchata too!), and the molcajete is presented in an authentically Mexico City style. I was even delighted to find that delicious champurrado was made seasonally! The lunch menu provides light, savory, and healthy meals with a free refillable Mexican drink for around $5 to $7.
Please do try this place if you have the chance!
I have been having this on my wanting to go list for a while and I knew my mom was always around this area so I sent her to try it out, she loved it and she's a very picky person. So the next time we both went together. The place is small but has plenty of seating, the waitress was attentive but I think she did lack a bit of attentiveness, we had to ask for multiple things.
I ordered the cafe de olla and it was delicious and flavorful, I never get more than one refill and I got 3!!!
The food came out in a timely manner and yummy, was the food delicious, flavorful and fresh! The plates are beautifully plated as well. There are other things I will be back to try from the menu because they look delicious. The owner/chef came to check on us and ask how everything was and that is such a great gesture. I can't wait to go back and try other dishes.
Great food the rice is so good. I highly recommend this place. The service is also amazing and very friendly staff. The decor is beautiful it really adds to the atmosphere.

The Green Pozole had SO much flavor & I got everything that I asked for in my Mexican breakfast as well.. Crunchy chilaquilles & my eggs cooked medium as requested 👌.. the staff was also very attentive! Will definitely be coming back. Thank you!
Authentic, fresh and delicious, great service, and fast without tasting like it was rushed. They have brunch buffet on the weekends, and the Cafe de Olla is delish! Love ❤️ and highly recommend. Tell the owner Sandra sent you 😊
This is the first time that I found a place that makes really good chilaquiles verdes. We ordered them with chicken and an egg on the top 🤌🏼 they were delicious. If you like extra spicy, ask for their spicy salsa verde. From the moment we came in the service was great and the waitress was very attentive 🌟 we’re definitely coming back.
I was pleasantly surprised of how good the food was!! I ordered the chile en nogada not expecting much but wow o wow!!! It was delicious!! My friend loved her molletes,sopes and her café de olla! They’re menudo was good too. Definitely on our list to return. Server Karla was very nice too.
My first time trying the tamales from this place and they were a thousand times better than dona teres. They're small but flavorful and not dry.
Today 4/27/23 I stopped by to grab something for breakfast. I was offered a free coffee while waiting for my food and that was nice. I ended up ordering lunch (tricolor enchiladas) not too crazy about the mole or the red one, but I loved the green one, the white rice and the refried beans were good too. The place looks clean and well kept, the decorations give it a nice touch.
Super great service! We were welcomed by the kind staff and got seated instantly. The whole environment makes you feel at home. Mexican Food here is DELICIOUS!!!! 10/10 recommend coming here! Definitely will be back next time we visit.

Update 05/07 this place never misses food wise and customer service wise hands down the best dont doubt it and give them a try you wont regret it 👌 breakfast brunch keeps us coming back... Went for the first time and had the brunch buffet it was fantastic super delicious and filling and a good amount of options an the service was outstanding definitely will be going back and recommending 😊
