Perfect for lunch!
We stopped into this no frills no fuss BBQ place while staying in Houston. Baked potato was perfect, brisket super tender and ribs fell right off the bone. What more could you need?!? Would certainly come back if we ever find ourselves in Houston again!

Brisket is always nice, got the loaded nacho brisket fries one time. It is massive but really good!
For Real BBQ. BBQ is pretty darn good, and sides and delicious. West Houston is not the best place to find BBQ, but if you're in the hood and in the mood for good food, stop by.
I had a chopped beef sandwich, and I sampled my friends ribs. Both were great. Potato salad was weird, but I would order it again.
Some of the best pork ribs I've had! Juicy and falling off the bone tender. I will definitely be a repeat customer when I visit Houston.
Love this place. Pork & jalapeño sausage was delicious as were the dry ribs and brisket. Heart Attack Potatoes are divine. Decor is appealing and the place is clean and inviting. If you like great BBQ you'll love this place
If you know barbecue you are gonna love this place! The meats I tried so for are way better than what I've had around Houston. The beef ribs are quite tasty and tender, the brisket is superb, moist, fork tender and full of wonderfull various spice flavor. The turkey breast is the best I' ve ever had with a delicious rosemary aroma. And the sides I had were well above average especially the Mac and cheese and the banana pudding is really yummy.
Best BBQ ever. I am addicted to this place best tasting BBQ IN HOUSTON
This new restaurant is great. Even better than Goode Company and others. Making this our choice in BBQ. The ribs are amazingly tender, the turkey is the best and the beef rocks. These guys know what they're doing.
I can think of a few places close by, I would drive past to get to Stockyard. I would not drive across town to eat here, but I would drive 15 minutes to eat here. If this your favorite place and its close by, hold your head up cuz this is good 'cue. I scored Stockyard an 83 out of 100. This is Reserve Grand Champion Texas BBQ. Smoke: Oak and pecan. They proudly display their Olyer wood fired smoker. For urban 'cue, this is about the best you can hope for. Brisket: Very Good. A very impressive bright red 5/16in smoke ring. Thin black bark. Snap apart tender, no knife needed and moist. Near perfect tenderness. Was disappointed in the mild smoke. Geez, you got the equipment, where's the smoke? No detectable rub. Due to mild smoke and no rub zing, use the sauce. Ribs: Good. Soft clean bite, clean bone. Very tender but finished a little dry. Nice black bark finish. I could see the rub but could not taste the rub. Again the smoke w
Great barbecue for sure. Succulent Brisket, decent sausage, great perfectly done ribs, Mac and cheese was some of the better I've had, the cabbage with bacon was pretty good as well. Customer service personnel had positive fun attitude which always helps. Worth the $$ spent for sure as we were celebrating.
I wanted some smoked turkey for work lunch sandwiches. Stockyard got that rosemary smoked turkey for work lunch sandwiches. It’s real good too, moist, lightly smoked and did I mention delicious? I figured since I’m getting rosemary smoked turkey for work lunch sandwiches, I might as well get some beef short ribs since Stockyard smokes those beef short ribs (they also smoke regular beef ribs). Those beef short ribs are real good too, moist, nicely smoked and they got delicious bark going on. I didn’t get any sides so I can’t attest to those, but I can tell you I’m no fan of their sauce. It’s more like a spicy ketchup than barbecue sauce. Thankfully, good barbecue like Stockyard is pushing doesn’t require sauce.
When in Texas, only BBQ beef ribs will do. We ordered the “meat”! Brisket and two beef short ribs. The meat falls off the bone and shreds apart like butter! Bark was insanely good. Brisket was expertly sliced thin and the smoke ring was visible. The sauce is the bomb!
No sides for us other than picked and pickled onions… although the station had other peppers and onion to select.
This was worth the 2 mile walk-both ways-from our hotel. Enjoy the beef ribs! You know that you want them….
I ordered the loaded baked potato and Mac n cheese and it was hands down some of the best bbq I’ve tasted on this side of Houston! Mac n cheese was very cheesy and flavorful, & the loaded baked potato was LOADED, they weren’t stingy with any of the ingredients. They were very nice and quick with their service and the eating area is very clean. They also have a mini bar with a selection of liquor, frozen mimosas and some local & regional beers. 10/10 definitely recommend.✨🔥
Great barbecue. Succulent Brisket, decent sausage, perfectly done ribs, and tasty fried okra on the side; Customer service personnel was very helpful and friendly.
Worth the $$ spent
On a recent trip to Houston I was staying in the Galleria and decided to give Stockyard a try. The beef short ribs are delicious and accompanied with the heart attack potatoes and beans it was awesome. I was greeted multiple ti by the staff behind the counter and they answered all my BBQ questions. And if you like sauce with your BBQ their regular and spicy BBQ sauce pair great!
Dang! The food here is too damn good! It is definitely raised the standard of barbecue around Houston. After eating here I feel like I have been spoiled and I’m gonna have a hard time eating barbecue at a lot of other places. This is definitely in the top three barbecue spots I’ve had around Houston.
My first visit. I ordered ribs, brisket, cabbage and Mac and cheese. The brisket and ribs had an authentic smoky flavor and were very tender. The spicy BBQ sauce had bold flavor and a nice amount of heat but overpowered the flavor of the meat. Overall I had a very good meal and I'm looking forward to returning.
Brisket had no char and was just downright bland. But the sausage was great, pulled pork was great, mac and cheese was okay, only bbq place so far that properly fried their fries to a crisp fry not soggy... but... let me tell you about their banana pudding. If you dont know... let me put you on. THAT WAS THE BEST DESSERT I have had ANYWHERE.
I’ve eaten here many times while working in Houston. The food is always fresh. Service is great. I wouldn’t suggest more than the 2 meat plate. It’s a LOT of food. Beer is also available here. Take out is an option, however we always dined in.
