Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner! Much nicer restaurant than we are used to but wait staff was awesome, friendly and not at all pretentious. Food, especially roast duck, was perfect. Would definitely go again.

Every dish in Chef Johann's creative repertoire is crafted with care, using carefully chosen ingredients that balance each other in both taste & texture and his meals are presented beautifully. I have not chosen a dish in all of my visits that has ever disappointed me. And for anyone who likes their fish properly prepared and not overcooked - you are in for a delicious fish dinner at Charivari! Enjoy!

I had the red fish and OMG my mouth started doing a happy dance the minute it tasted this delicious dish. Chef Johann is great! He gave me a complete lesson on the nutritional benefit of the white asparagus that accompanied my fish. And his wife Maria is such a delightful, beautiful soul. I ALWAYS leave Charivari Restaurant happy!!

Excellent meal. Great interaction with the staff and chef. The ambience is basic but acceptable. Our mains in particular were great, the filet, schnitzels, and lamb each was nice and well presented. The octopus appetizer was also very nice. The soups were pleasant though ordinary. Overall I'd recommend a visit

Excellent food and service. I went for brunch and was delighted with the food. Being a chilly February day, I had a superb onion soup and then Eggs Benedict with very tasty Mimosas. Chef Shuster takes loving pride in his dishes and their presentation. Maria takes great care of the guests and makes everyone feel welcome. A great experience. Thank you.

Food is awesome! But when you have to put a disclaimer on the sidewalk sign that says "We are here to serve you but please be patient" there is most likely a staffing or leadership issue within the service staff...which there was unfortunately. But the food it's incredible, everything morsel was delicious. The mushroom risotto was the particularly great and deserves an honorable mention. It is by far the best I have ever had this side of the Atlantic, maybe that side as well!

Excellent food, attentive service. The chef personally came out to chat with all of us later in the evening. He is super nice! You can tell he enjoys his trade. The restaurant has been around since 2000. The food is "New European" and I felt like he does a good job taking the classic European foods (German, Romanian, just to name a couple) and making them better. I liked his roast duck more than the one I had in Germany!

A French restaurant in midtown with very upscale service. The food is fantastic. We went twice during restaurant weeks. The first time I had the hangar steak. It was so we'll cooked and tender. The second time I had the chicken dish. Moist and tender is an understatement. The chef is friendly and enjoys talking with his guests. I recommend this restaurant for any time. You won't be disappointed.

We love Chef Johan and all the amazing food and service at Charivari. We only go once or twice a year because it's so special and amazing that we don't want it to become a mainstream experience (which it isn't). We love the European experience there and appreciate all the authentic Euro dishes. This place makes us very happy.
