Brunch was spectacular. I highly recommend the shrimp and grits. The burger, the chicken fried steak, the crab cake hollandaise, and the sous vide pork belly with omelet were given high marks. Although I did not partake, I hear the cocktails were pretty good as well. And with live music on the patio outside and a friendly, relaxed staff, it has everything. Except mustard, for some reason.
I love the hour and a half time limit. It helps keep wait times down when the restaurant is busy, the restaurant make more sales and gets to stay in a convenient yet expensive location, helps the servers make a decent living, allows for more people to come and try/enjoy the food, and allowed PLENTY of time for us to wait on a couple of friends, drink coffee, order and eat food, and drink a cocktail. I wish more places would do this.

My extended family was in town from Louisiana and Japan for my nephew's wedding. We decided to have brunch at Lucille's and the food was simply amazing! I must say the French toast, Pancakes, Chili Biscuits, Greens, Fried Chicken, Shrimp & Grits, Cheese Grits, Mimosas and the delicious Peach Bellini's was superb!! Totally delicious. There was a band playing which really gave a good vibe. Thanks Lucille's, my family loved every bit of it!!

I’ve heard about Lucille’s continuously since moving here and was excited to try it for brunch with some friends. We made our reservation through OpenTable, and were told that we had to all be present to be seated, which was no problem. Upon arriving with our reservation and all of us being present to be seated, we still had to wait for a table which was just a little confusing to me. Why make a reservation if we still have to wait? Nonetheless, we were seated, and our server was very prompt and attentive. All of our meals came out very quickly, and were all very delicious. As far as a brunch place, this particular restaurant did not fit the aesthetic that I had in my head for a brunch location however, the brunch that is served is very delicious so if you’re looking for a really really great brunch menu, then this is absolutely the place but if you’re looking for a place that’s more like the aesthetic of brunch then you may want to consider another place. This restaurant is definitely a feel good, cozy place that you are going to get great food.
Lucille's was on my must try list. My visit was very pleasant. The staff greeted us quickly and we were seated at the bar to watch football. Rose, the bartender, was so kind and she provided great recommendations. We decided to try the shrimp and grits with a side bacon. The shrimp and bacon were delicious but the grits were just okay. The grits were savory but I prefer my grits plain so that I can enhance them according to my preference. Aside from that, this was a great experience and I will definitely return again to try a few more dishes!
Loved the vibe here! My girls and I visited from Philly. Quincy was super kind and accommodating to our unique circumstances. Food was top tier! Enjoyed the oxtail omelet..whew! And the chicken and waffles were amazing. Gotta try the fried green tomatoes and chili biscuits to start, so delicious! Thanks for a great experience!
Party of 4 arrived with no reservation on a Saturday. There was a 30 minute wait so we grabbed drinks at the bar. As we finished our drinks we were sat and ordered. Food & drinks arrived promptly due to the limited time for each table which I believe was an 90 minutes. Efficient. Delicious most of all.
The Food Was Delicious!! The Service Was Excellent!! Our Server Miss Linda, Made The Experience Even Better!! The Icing On The Cake Was The Croissant Bread Pudding!! "Listen Linda!!!" Delicious!! The Portions Were Big! Everything Was Great!! LUCILLE'S Should Be In Your Top Places To Eat At In Houston Texas, Destination book!!

My husband and I were in town for a conference and had the good fortune to hang out with his old Navy buddy and his wife. They recommended Lucille’s and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. I was struck by the cool vibe and trendy, diverse crowd. The service and the food was incredible. I absolutely recommend the fried green tomatoes with shrimp on top. Super tasty! Everyone was happy with their entree. So unique and flavorful. If you’re looking for good food to share with good friends, check out this spot. You will be happy you did.

My husband and I came here during the happy hour, and it was so worth it! We got their mango margarita. Chili biscuits and gumbo were ok. I love the Yardbird so much!! Very juicy and tender inside, crispy outside (really want to thank my friend for recommending this dish). The mashed potato paired very well with the fried chicken and collard green. I only want to complain that the food is a little salty. Lucille's has that Southern vibe at every corner of the restaurant. Overall, it's worth coming back!
My second time dinning at Lucille’s with my family and the service did not disappoint. We had reservations for 4 people and were seated right away. Our server Q.G was professional and He never forgot about us. The Yardbird was very tasty and the greens were seasoned well. My mother ordered the roasted hen and she loved her dish. My father ordered the smothered steak with the roasted potatoes and said it was delicious. The shiitake gravy was a good add to the steak. We ordered the fried green tomatoes and in my opinion It was cut too thick and needed more spice. The mac and cheese needed a dash of salt and I was disappointed in the cornbread this time. This first time I had the cornbread the edges were crispy, with a nice buttery inside. This time I felt it was rushed out of the oven.
Vibe- This is a nice black owned restaurant near the museum district! It seems like a nice spot to stop in for happy hour during the week. There’s a good amount of seating inside.
Customer service- Great, the server my family and I had, Chris was great!
Food/drinks- I hate that there weren’t many vegan or vegetarian options on the menu (why I went with an overall 4 star review) but I did enjoy the Brussels sprouts (removed the egg), fried green tomatoes, and the baked Mac & Cheese.
Parking- There’s valet and some lots near by.
The food and service here was ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT! All the way from the valet parking experience to the end of our brunch we enjoyed it. Our waitress Linda was absolutely amazing! The vibe was relaxing and enjoyable! The drinks were great! We will definitely be back next time we are in Houston!
