Saturday evening. I didn't take any menu pics, because I wasn't there long enough. I called and ordered a chicken katsu plate. I called to place my order, because I ordered pigs feet soup from another restaurant right before I called Grace's Inn. I asked how long, so I could make my way over. The woman on the phone said three minutes. I said to myself, wow that's fast. It took me about 5 minutes to get to location. I walked into restaurant and there were two people in front of me. I got the good ol local plate lunch feel like you get at some of the other older traditional plate lunch restaurants in town. In about a minute I told wo.an I had a pick up. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. She rung me up and I was out of there, and on my way to pick up my dad's pigs feet soup order. Food was plentiful and tasty, just like I expected.
Go try it.
Wonderful eatery with delicious comfort food at reasonable prices. Most enjoy their chicken katsu, pork cutlet and sweet sour pork with gravy all over. Yummmm!
A taste from my childhood! I miss the old Grace's location in Aiea for a great weekend or after-school meal. Chicken katsu always! Just like I remember it! 💯
Love this place. It's my favorite "I'm starving, but I don't want to spend too much" place to grab something to-go. The food isn't fine dining, so don't expect Michelin star cuisine. But it's good, hole-in-the-wall, local comfort food. Their chicken katsu is my favorite go-to dish. The spaghetti is really good too.
As far as plate lunch spots go...Grace's is near the top of the heap. With most places increasing prices while reducing portions and quality...Grace's has minimized price increases while still maintaining portions and quality. So you can still get a huge volume of food for a decent price. Most plates are good for 2 or 3 meals...or can easily feed 2 people. My go to is the roast pork and teri burger mix...or chicken katsu beef stew mix. So if you want great value and quality...go to Grace's.
A drive in located on Beretania near Times Supermarket. This drive in has been around for a long time. It is a simple place with adequate seating. The people are friendly. The menu includes local plate lunches like Loco Moco, Chicken Katsu, and others. A good place to eat when looking for a quick meal.
I'll drive from Mililani to grab a plate every once in a while and more often grab lunch during work days here. The food (and memories) are that good. It's a Good old fashioned plate lunch. Price has gone up since my college days (what hasn't in 25 years) but food is still just as good and plentiful. In college, this used to be the "treat yourself when you're starving" place to go. You always got enough "Ono" food to satisfy the college boy bottomless hunger. Now that I can afford it, the food is still great but it's now TWO meals for me. I was very sad when the original Moiliili, then the Aiea branches closed down. I'll keep patronizing this place because it's that good.
It’s been a lifetime since I’ve eaten here. Either my taste buds have really changed, or it doesn’t taste the same. I will say that the mini combo for $7.50 is one awesome deal. The chicken katsu was fresh cooked, not the pre-cooked kept on the heater katsu. Of course, I forgot the Grace’s uses chow fun as their plate liner... nice little bonus. Service was good, price was right, and food quality was fresh, which I rarely see within all the pop up “Hawaiian BBQ” places now days. They did a solid 4. I can’t give them a 5 just yet.
They have the best chicken katsu. The sauce, Mac salad and chow fun underneath is the best! Been going here for over 40 yrs and never order anything else
