The restaurant was not crowded when we came, so the service was very fast and efficient thanks to their hardworking staff. I like the white tablecloth aesthetics and the fact that the restaurant can accommodate a lot of customers. We had the garlic ginger noodles, sizzling scallions in black bean sauce and vegetarian spring rolls. The food was fine, though I do find them a tad salty and like many Chinese restaurants, the portions are generous and I got to bring some leftovers home. Parking is very limited so might be annoying to find street parking.

After a long journey, the craving for Chinese food led us to this conveniently located eatery near our accommodation. Opting for a comforting choice, we ordered the Shrimp Fried Rice and Crab Meat Soup Bowl. The Shrimp Fried Rice exceeded our expectations, earning a solid 9 out of 10 for its delightful flavors. The portion size was generous, easily satisfying two hungry appetites. I highly recommend this place not only for the scrumptious food but also for the remarkably swift delivery – our order arrived within a mere 20 minutes.
Had an early lunch and I think was the first customer of the day.
Real nice service and some of the best Chinese food I've had in awhile.
The star of the day was the Orange Peel Beef. Just perfect. One of the best versions I have ever had.
We also loved the whole shrimp roasted with garlic and pepper, Kung Pao Squid, and deep fried tofu stuffed with minced shrimp. But the winner was the orange beef.
This is now our go to Chinese place on Oahu.
Very good food. Great service. Not busy at 230pm on a Sunday afternoon.
The Beef Chow Fun was very good. The beef was a little chewy, but the noodles and flavor were excellent! The portion was large.
The Kung Pao Chicken was very good, but the portion was small. Also there were about 20 peppers on top, which was unnecessary and odd looking. But the flavor was excellent.
The Sweet and Sour Chicken was good. Very sweet. My husband ordered this plate…I would not order it, but the sweetness was typical. The portion was average.
Would definitely go back and try more options. $50 + tip - for 2 people (3 plates) and no leftovers.
Excellent authentic Chinese food(judging by a Chinese). Clam with black bean sauce- plenty of sauce and clams were fresh. Salt and pepper crabs - very tasty with salt, pepper, onion, and garlic. My only wish was that it was stir fried all the way instead of deep fried. Crab shell was nice and crunchy. Crab was fresh - no freezer taste. Steamed fish with ginger and fish sauce - very very tasty. If you're not good at picking out the fish bones, then don't order it. A proper Chinese dinner cannot be completed without a vegetable dish - we had ong choy with shrimp paste. So yummy. The Ong choy was probably my favorite dish.
Portion are big enough for two. Typical Chinese Taste. Service are quick and friendly. Only thing to complain is if you comes with your car, parking is very difficult. There's no parking at the front at all and have to drive around for neighbor's parking. Overall, We will definitely coming back a bit earlier than prime time.
p.s- we order their egg&corn soup again and they offer free.
I recommend almond and tofu for desert. Mango Tofu isn't too sweet.
I was on vacation in Honolulu over the weekend. After having a great time scuba-diving, I was very excited to see what I could grab to eat!
As a Korean, I tried to look for dishes that matched with my taste palette. I looked through the menu and I found a good, solid amount of spicy meat dishes. It was as if the restaurant knew exactly what I was looking for! After having a good look through their menu, I decided on the Peppery Beef on Sizzling Platter. Before the food even arrived to the table, I cannot even explain to you how eager I became once I smelled the aromatic spices of the dish. The taste was delectable, and I would fly back just to eat it again. For my choice of veggies, I went with the eggplant dish which complemented my craving for meat very well. I was suffering with light constipation after I landed in Honolulu, but this dish served to be a great solution.
I was blessed to have been served by the manager Michael and his associates. Their timely service made my already awesome experience into a memorable one. I was very surprised to hear the manager conversing in Chinese at one table, Japanese at another table, and English at the next. Service at this restaurant was definitely one of a kind.
Although I wasn't very familiar with Chinese food, the photos on their website seemed so appetizing that I just knew I had to give this place a try. The restaurant was located near the Ala Wai golf course, and their parking directions were conveniently illustrated on their website.
If you are ever in Honolulu, make sure to try House of Wong!
Authentic. Great food complete with carpet that saw better days. Lemon chicken is great, wonton sup is the best!!
February 2022:
Came here for lunch on Chinese New Year! Was very happy that they were open! 👍
Ordered the ong choy with garlic sauce and the black beans beef chow fun. Both were really tasty and authentic Cantonese style cooking!
Not sure why this place doesn't have higher ratings, but if you are looking for authentic Cantonese style cooking, you will find it here!
PS: I am not related to the owners 😂.
Food is really good and more authentic then all sweet stuff.
Staff are friendly and attentive.
