I entertained a business partner and guests here. Excellent food and service.
The food is delicious. The service, impeccable and the staff are very friendly. I highly recommend this Waialae Avenue jewel!
Very Nice!. I have read the reviews submitted to urbanspoon, and it doesn't jive with my dining experience there twice, the last being in late October of this year. The service was good, with great attention to our needs (we had a party of 12 which in Honolulu seems to be overwhelming for most restaurants), The portions were a surprise really, most of us were expecting portions fit more for a size 0 rather than a husky waist 38! Atlantic salmon is de rigeur for most restaurants, but our happened to be King from New Zealand. Further there isn't anything particularly wrong with Atlantic salmon, if it is prepared with care.
I want to make a comparison: a few weeks before we dined at Le Bistro which consistently gets high ratings, and I am wondering about that...look at my Le Bistro review for comparison. For the fixed menus, I would give Cafe Miro a try, especially if you want something a little above the ordinary, but don't want to be left paying your mortgage a couple of days late.
This is now my favorite place to dine on the island.
The service was the best I’ve had in the state. Every dish was carefully crafted with delightful flavors. The cocktails were amazing and the wine pairing is great. Best of all, their menu changes monthly!
We had a great time here. It honestly might be the best food we've ever had so far. The set course was amazing, wine pairing was perfect, and the bread was to die for. Service was great as well! No complaints from us!
Absolutely fantastic. The entire meal is well executed with excellent additions to the menu that complement it. This winter menu is stunning with a few standout dishes. Service and particular our server Keenan was beyond fabulous. He knew each dish, it’s preparation and ingredients well. My one slight disappointment was the dessert. I felt the burnt toasted rice overwhelmed the flavors and the purple pudding had a slightly grainy quality to it. Amazing cocktails!
In addition to their own prix fixe menu, my husband and I have had the opportunity to do two of their special chef collaboration dinners. Every time we're blown away by the experience. The food and cocktails are complex, flavorful and always on-point. This is probably our favorite restaurant on-Island.
Perfect for date night with upscale / clean vibes without being too pretentious. Our waiter, kevin was fantastic! we loved the chard salad with egg yolk, scallop and ahi brioche (supplement). The first dish had sashimi that was a bit too salty. The mango mezcal cocktail was awesome.
Enjoyed an excellent brunch here. The menu feels like the epitome of new American – the team brings together refined worldly influences like Moroccan and French to create a delightful brunch.
The onion scone was delightful. It was light and had a hint of sweetness that wasn’t just from the onion. The pairing of smoked salmon dip was complementary, and it reminded me of a lox bagel.
The duck confit waffle is like a chicken and waffle, but with duck. Does it work? Yes. The confit was adapted a little to make it have additional breading and thus crunch like fried chicken. A whole duck leg was more than enough to finish. The berbere syrup was very interesting; it consists of a blend of spices and made the syrup less intense for the waffles, also pairing with the duck confit very well.
The dessert of vanilla + bananas + biscuits was delicious. The rum brulee on bananas was amazing, and it lay in a bed of agreeable vanilla pudding.
I only give five stars when I came across one or more OMG dishes. Miro definitely impressed me!
First of all, their tasting menu will change monthly. And they will also have things that are not in the menu. Please do check them out! I also recommend checking their instagram.
My favorite dish was the brioche topped with caviar (not in the tasting menu though). It was an OMG for sure! The brioche was so crispy and warm. The caviar feels so rich and smooth.
Overall the tasting menu was good. But the main course was not for me. They cooked the pork chops with rind on and it was a bit overwhelming for me.
I also enjoyed the dessert a lot. It was a creamy coconut flavored base topped with ube ice cream and crispy rice. I liked the combination of the different textures and taste.
