We enjoyed the food. It was late for us, due to time change so we ordered 1 of the steaks, and several appetizers and all shared. The macadamia shrimp, steak and the dressing on the salad were awesome.
People ask me were to eat in Waikiki that is excellent but affordable. I always say, go to Japengo. It is a bit tricky to find and not on the beach, but the sushi is the best. My wife and I like to hang out in the comfortable seats and grab a few of the happy hour specials. The ambiance is modern yet relaxing, the service is always top notch, and the fish is fresh. You will find some of the most creative sushi dishes in Waikiki without the exorbitant prices of a more famous restaurant by the harbor.
Best sushi on the island. I ordered scallops, hamachi, and a few rolls.
The sushi chefs and servers were very friendly and made recommendations on food choices.
Ambience was modern and cool. It's a spot I'll always return to.
There is nothing traditional nor Hawaiian about the dishes nor the place as the description blurb in google. Having said that the menu is varied, delicious and can get pricey. Cocktails were inspiring aswell.
Amazing hamachi sashimi, truffle scallop, coconut creme brule!!! Worth to try it out! Loved the tasting menu as well the special handcrafted cocktails!
Terrific gastronomy!!
Very creative cosine
Surprisingly great deserts too: best tiramisu and creme brûlée in USA!! No only Hawaii.
Awesome wine variety
Over all great experience, the food is very good, the service stellar, we had a private room so I can't say what the restaurant itself is like. We enjoyed our visit there.
