It was the best buffet/meal I've ever had. The view is perfect and the attendance exceptional. The lamb roast, prime rib and misoyaki butterfish were perfect. Everything from beginning to end was grand... Befitting to my birthday celebration. My niece Danielle picked the ideal place. This place will be a repeat...repeat....

This dinner is in our top 10 ever and we have been married 36 years and have eaten alot of fantastic dinners. Lisa was awesome and the food and wine were amazing and paired perfectly. It was the perfect close of our vacation for our last night in Hawaii.

Wonderful food & great service with a beautiful ambiance! Would highly recommend to anyone looking to treat themselves to some fine dining. My wife was surprised that they didn't boast at least 2 Michelin stars!

The experience we had here was so great. Lisa made our special dinner much better, and we enjoyed our final night in Hawaii islands. That’s right decision! All dishes we had were awesome, no exceptions. All parts of foods they use to dishes were fully selected, so we enjoyed even a part left on each plate. One sad thing was, they gave us cute macarons for our celebration of our marriage, and we were supposed to have them later in our room by keeping them in the fridge. Guess what? We left them in the fridge and went back home 😭 That’s why we have to come back here again!! 😆 Thanks for making our special night much brighter!

The experience you get at Hoku’s is special to this restaurant and this restaurant alone. With an open air kitchen you can see and smell everything. From the moment you walk in, Chef Johnny Phan is front and center rallied by his kitchen staff. With a warm greeting they look at you to greet you as soon as you walk through the large doors of Hoku’s. The staff is friendly, kind, and so welcoming. From the moment we sat down we felt special. With great attention to detail, Hoku’s knows how to make every experience something to remember. We got the three course meal as this was our first time with a prefixed menu. As the food rolled out, they make everything timed to your pace. There is no rush or push to finish too quickly or if you’re a faster eater - to slow down. The chef looks into the dining room speaking with wait staff as they check on you, relaying messages from table to kitchen. In most kitchens you would think the noises and sounds would be distracting, but you could not hear a sound. The kitchen works well and cohesively to provide a great ambiance. The food was amazing. As with the experience, the food did not disappoint. It was a good size portion for the quality you’re looking for. The crispy tako with shishito peppers paired so well together. The scallops were cooked perfectly, with a sauce you would not believe. To finish it off we had a crème brûlée dessert with a coconut cookie. The entire meal worked so well together and ended off so nicely. The wait staff was attentive and so kind. No glass went empty and no detail was too small. Thank you to Hoku’s for creating a dining experience we will never forget, and making my sister feel special on her birthday.

This time a culinary journey took place at Hoku’s Kahala. It’s an elegant and refined, yet comfortable and relaxed restaurant, where exquisite flavors and impeccable presentation came together to create an unexpected dining experience for us. We had a 4-course tasting menu and everything was truly divine, because here we didn’t find food, we found a culinary artwork in every plate of food we had.

I really like the foiegras dish which blended the tastes perfectly with a touch of pineapple as representation of Hawaii. The lobster dish was good but I didn't like the spaghetti underneath very much. The short ribs was good.

Amazing food, staff, and location! We went into Waikiki to one of the top rated restaurants the night before and it didn’t even come close to how amazing hoku was! One of the best meals we have ever had!

Good experience. Brunch on Sunday gives you delicious lobster tails and crab. One beverage is included and can be purchased for extra cost if you need refills. most of the buffet items are only ok (dry or sitting too long) Sushi and poke sides are good. Worth the experience - I don't recommend booking after 12 because you will be against the time limit as they pack up at 230 sharp. Book ahead book early so you can get in. The hotel itself is gorgeous. The parking validation is nice as it gives you time to explore the hotel grounds as well.

The view and the service is great, but the food comes pretty close. It's open and tables spaced far enough apart that it feels intimate. The staff is supportive of each other and do an excellent job taking care of you. They are very intuitive and will help you in any way you can. They are so friendly and kind too. We had a great experience with Lisa. We got seated just before sunset and it was gorgeous. On a windy night the palm trees add a little something extra to the tropical beach scene. The food is creative and imaginative. The choices the kitchen makes are bold and confident. I have never enjoyed cauliflower more. Of course signature cocktails and a well rounded bar are good compliments to any meal. The desserts are varied, decadent, and worth the richness. Go with chocolate, trust me.

Service is top notch at Hoku's. We felt like our servers were friends we hadn't seen in a very long time. The food was very good as well. The atmosphere and view of the ocean were very nice. A little expensive for the food that you get, but that is to be expected in Hawaii. This is a fine dining experience that shouldn't be missed.
