Papa's Café has the best laksa in town! Wins hands down. Beats Panya. There are three varieties of laksa, wth wonton, beef brisket or seafood. Ordered the seafood and asked for it to be extra spicy. The curry broth is way more fragrant and richer than Panya. Had me sweating! So delicious. There are other yummy dishes too and bubble tea but my focus was the laksa. Come early. It's a small place with a lot of walk ins (it's by a bus stop) and a lot of people in the neighborhood order take out.
First time eating there. Food is delicious, fresh, good service and reasonable prices!! 😊😋😋😋yum yum! 👅
This is my go to spot for food in Chinatown, especially since it is the very few places that sells Singapore laksa on the island. The restaurant has dine in or take out window at the Mauna Kea Market side and its basic, no fuss Chinatown style is what I love about it. The staff are nice and easy, but do expect slower service because they're usually very busy. There are a lot of options for you to choose from, the portions are very generous so I recommend that you share the entree. There are only 5 sets of dining tables on the store, you can also take it to go and eat at the picnic tables on the Mauna kea market. I usually have the seafood laksa ($14.99) and today I tried the butterfly pea lemonade which is refreshing on a hot day.
My husband wanted to visit Chinatown! And check out Papas Cafe,, we order some boba and not bad at all.. very flavorful one of my hubby favorite places
Super cute little place, visited on Chinese New year and got the butterfly pea lemonade, a coconut boba and a couple orders of spring rolls, it was all delicious.
Really good Chinese food. Service is fine. Small not much but some chairs. Maybe 16 people at most can fit inside.
Stall in a simple food court.
I was hungry for shrimp fried rice one day & was in Chinatown. Waiting for the bus, I decided to go into Papa's Cafe. Ordered their shrimp fried rice, took it home...Gosh!! It was so Onolicious...fo' realz!! Yesterday I got the beef broccoli noodle...hands down Delish!! And their bubble drinks are great, too!! Going back soon!!👍👌😁😉🤙
Delicious Chinese food in this hole-in-the-wall. Very nice folks runs this place. Very small place with 4-5 tables. No
My family has been coming here for ages. We love the soft shell crab and seafood curry laksa. My dad always gets the minute chicken. Like always. To the point the owner writes it down before he orders haha. Whenever we explore the menu we are pleasantly delighted. Will continue to come here and recommend.
Their Beef Chow Funn and Singapore Vermicelli tasted like the ones in the San Francisco Bay Area 😋 We didn’t give 5 🌟 stars because their House Special Chicken was a bit dry. But overall few of their dishes suited our tastes.
TIP: We used Chinese to add notes to the chef in DoorDash.
