Felt like grabbing some meat and this spot has came on the list.
Ribs were attractive, but chose Beef Brisket Meal with Mac&Cheese.
Beef brisket was way too good than I expected.
So soft and really juicy.
It was good without any sauce, but was even better with hot BBQ sauce.
Mac&Cheese was great too that with bits of bacon, salty taste was good match with cheese.
I believe I will come back for this spot!

I recently tried Jog Wild BBQ and had a delightful experience overall. I ordered their spicy BBQ pulled pork sandwich with a side of coleslaw. The pulled pork in the sandwich was absolutely amazing; it was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. However, I must admit that the "spicy" BBQ sauce was not as fiery as I had hoped for, and I would have preferred a bit more kick to it. Nonetheless, the taste was still excellent, and I would definitely order it again!
As for the coleslaw, I have mixed feelings about it. The presentation of an all red cabbage and red onions coleslaw didn't quite appeal to me visually, and it didn't pack as much flavor as I expected. While it wasn't terrible, it didn't leave a lasting impression, and I might skip it on my next visit to try something different from their menu.
The restaurant itself is cozy and charming, but being small, it can get quite crowded during peak hours. Despite that, the service was surprisingly swift, and we received our food in a timely manner. The staff was incredibly friendly, which added to the overall pleasant dining experience.
In conclusion, Jog Wild BBQ offers a fantastic pulled pork sandwich that, despite the mild spiciness, delivers on taste and tenderness. I'd recommend giving it a try! While the coleslaw didn't quite hit the mark for me, there are plenty of other tempting options on their menu that I look forward to exploring on my next visit. If you're a fan of good BBQ in a warm atmosphere, this is a spot worth checking out.
I ordered the BBQ Chicken Sandwich with a side of potato salad. The sandwich was big and filling, but I felt like it needed some more seasoning to bring out the chicken flavor. The potato salad reminded me of a family recipe, except a few larger chunks weren't cooked enough. My husband ordered the brisket. He said it had good flavor, but it wasn't sliced correctly.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND This was our first time eating here. The food was excellent and we will definitely go back when in the Holland area. The inside is a great atmosphere.
The only thing disappointing was the amount of food. I got a side of mac n cheese and the bowl was half full. To me if you pay the price then give the correct portions. Makes it worth it for the customer. I do recommend and we will come back as this is a suggestion.
Great price!! The sauce was really good. My daughter really like the ribs but no sauce. She said ribs are good and don't need sauce lol. Really friendly staff
Excellent BBQ place. Got a 2-meat plate that had a good amount of food and was ready for consumption very quickly. Friendly people behind the counter.
DELICIOUS BBQ! Please try the jalapeño potato salad! Located on the corner of River and Lakewood, it’s the perfect place to pick up food on your way to the beach or a picnic or wherever. Super clean too.
Been looking for a good BBQ/meat restaurant replacement lately and I've found it in spades here. Hog Wild has it all from a welcoming atmosphere, to friendly workers, and of course great food. The bacon Mac and cheese I had was creamy but not overly so; perfectly made to the point where I'd want to replicate the recipe even! The turkey sandwhich I got as well was fantastic and well priced for the portion size. Highly recommend this place, the BEST food available on River!
Fantastic deal for the money, you can't go wrong. The weight of my carryout was substantial.
BBQ brisket was fall apart tender and heavily seasoned.
Pulled pork was moist, juicy, and not over seasoned.
The ribs were good but not fall off the bone tender, they are seasoned heavily.
Potato salad was good, but not like mom makes.
Baked beans were good, thick and rich.
The cornbread is like a Johnny cake. Sweet, but lacking corn taste.
Hog Wild has solid smokehouse style food. I've mostly had their catering over the last 10 years - have not really dined in much.
Great pulled pork, I like the corn cakes too, as well as the baked beans. The coleslaw is purple, which is fun, but it's not really sweet - just a preference thing. I'm not a fan of the pasta salad, but that also might just be a preference thing.
If you're looking for some good BBQ in Holland, they are definitely worth checking out!
