Mahzu Japanese Restaurant

I love hibachi. It is one of my favorite places to indulge and I always am excited for the big portions, knowing I’ll have leftovers to bring home. This was not the case. Although all the food portions are normally larger, my amount of vegetables was ridiculously tiny. This photo was taken right when the chef was finished cooking- plate untouched. Disappointing.

Good food, good service, great sushi! We sat on the sushi restaurant side and it was much quieter however you could still hear a lot of the commotion over on the Hibachi side. Just updated my review from 3 years ago and I will say it has almost gotten better! If that was even possible! Her favorite roles are the hot lover and the paradise roll highly recommend both of them! The special, dinosaur egg was also amazing! That's what's in the picture. However there's not much we've had that hasn't been good. Service is also great and super friendly!

Ate here with a large family party recently, I believe that this was my second or third time visiting. They seem woefully understaffed at the moment. The restaurant was not packed by any means, yet our table was not ready for our reservation and we had to wait a bit. The staff were friendly but everything was a bit disjointed. We had one hibachi chef assigned to our large table and they cooked dinner in segments for our party, so half the party was served significantly later than the other half. At our previous visits we had two chefs on either side of the table so everyone was served simultaneously. We ordered some sushi to go along with dinner as an appetizer and that did not arrive until after we had already finished our meal. Everything was good but I think that they need more staff or some kind of operational improvements at the moment.

Don't waste your time here. Made a reservation for my daughter's birthday (at her request) for 5/22 at 6:30pm. Apparently the person taking the reservation made a mistake. We showed up on the correct day and time. After making us wait for 20 minutes, they explained that there was a mix-up with the reservatipon and that they were totally booked and there was no way to accomodate us even after acknowledging the mistake was theirs. I give the experience zero stars as there was no experience. This is the second time in a row they have screwed up our reservations. Don't go here. It will only bring frustration and disappointment. The staff is incompetent and can't even take a simple reservation for 4 properly. I'd give zero stars, but it won't let me.

If I could give this place 0 stars- I would. The service last night thru hibachi was plain awful. The gentleman preparing our food last night for hibachi was terrible. He did not greet us- He did not look like he wanted to be there- it seemed like he just wanted to cook our food as quickly as he could- he did not follow on the orders that we politely asked for- we just asked for extra garlic l, that’s it- and he was beyond annoyed at that, didn’t give us the sauces on the side until we asked for it before he left- didn’t not put on the show that they normally do especially for kids- and when I questioned my filet that it needed to be cooked longer, he said in nasty voice- it is and began placing the water on the flat top to clean, didn’t even give me a chance to try to place it back on the flat top to Cook. he was RUDE and AWFUL! He needs a 1 in 1 lesson on how to talk to customers- This is your job and your going to treat a customer like that?!? He could care less- was not attentive, did not interact with us, and simply could care less about his job. I Spoke to the manager about his awful behavior, and the young manager seems like he didn’t care either, so beware when you come for hibachi- you pay a good amount for the food- you want the service along with it too- you may get service like the one we got last night- which was simply horrible.
