Turtles Subs Etc

I had a gift card that I sorta forgot about, but recently kept seeing this place all over some of the Facebook food groups I'm in. Everyone raved about it, so we dug it up and made our way over (ok my wife did, I got held up at work lol). Off the bat my wife texts me at how friendly the owner is , greeting and talking to her about his day etc. The bread is fresh made locally from a Mennonite Baker, and is super soft and fluffy, while also not overwhelming the sub (you still taste the meat!) We got a couple cheese steaks and they were delish. Good amount of meat, lots of melty cheese, and the seasoned lettuce is amazing. There is a bunch of great looking combinations on the menu, so I can't wait to try more. Just wish they were open just a tiny tad bit later to make going after work not feel rushed, but it's worth it regardless.

The food might be good, but I’ll never know. On this day, the google listing said they were open until 7:00 and that you could dine in or carry out. This was my first time coming here on a recommendation. I arrived at about 5:35pm. I approached the door and saw a sign saying “masks required” and that they closed at 6 and that they are only accommodating carry out. So, my fiancé went back to the car to get our masks. The man behind the counter held his hands up with 6 fingers indicating they were closing at 6. I opened the door, verbalized understand and explained I was waiting on a mask. He then told me if I wanted food I better come in and order right now before the kitchen closes. So, my fiancé got back with a mask and we went in to order. I got “can I have 12 mild” out and he cut me off saying wings take 20 minutes and it’s already 5:40 so I couldn’t order wings. He was incredibly rude, and last time I checked 5:40 plus 20 minutes is 6:00 (when they close), but who am I… As soon as we walked out (without ordering) he locked the door behind us and closed the blinds. 20 minutes early. I will never go back there after the way were treated. We went to Benny’s pub instead and enjoyed delicious wings, phenomenal service. Save your money, and go to Benny’s.

Not impressed at all. I got a cheeseteak sub that had very little bits of meat on it and a lot of veggies which made it look full but there wasn't much meat at all. There was also very little taste. The fries were good. The wings are dry, although the sauce was good and so was the ranch dressing. It did take them over 30mins to get our food ready and it wasn't busy so if you are planning to come here don't expect anything quick, or you might want to call ahead.

This place checks all of the check boxes required of a good sub shop and then, many more that you're not expecting. Of course, the rolls are fresh, the meat is tasty and the veggies are good. But then, they take it further, when they say spiced lettuce, omg is the spice amazing. And all the vegetables are above salad quality. It comes in a plastic container and you'll be glad about that. Because you will not want to waste one drop of the veggies that fall off of your sub. And then, in a separate container, you will find the hot stuff, these amazingly hot peppers that are only for the brave to add to their sub. If you like hot, these are amazing!
