Best Hookah bar. I look for great bar's and locally owned places,i am so tired of all these major franchises,so boring,,,I heard about America's and i decided to go visit.I was so astounded by the friendly staff and great atmosphere,I ordered a beer and Hookah prices were cheap (so Glad ,lol).I was really surprised the large variety of Tobacco.Must visit place for Greater Greenville !!
Arriving at this restaurant for the first time...it wasn't what we expected. There was a local, after work crowd of chatty people in this bar/pub environment....and smoking is allowed which is not the case in most Greenville restaurants. So be prepared that this is the situation if you decide to give them a try. We arrived at Happy hour and beer prices were an astounding $1.75! Our waitress was extremely pleasant...and brought us menus. To our surprise, the food choices were much more than Bar food. We ordered the Shrimp & Grits and the Baked Salmon....both were very good and reasonably priced. Our vegetable medley was lukewarm, but when pointed out, was corrected and arrived along with a large piece of cheesecake compliments of the owner, Rehan Mir. We had a very nice conversation with him and learned of his diverse background. Our dinner and dessert were delicious. So if you have no problem with a smoky, dimly lit bar environment, stop by and enjoy their good food! Be sure to say Hello to the owner. : )
Great little neighborhood bar. Great food and service. I had the shrimp po boy and it was very good. Small cozy dining experience with a full bar.
It's New But Has Potential. I agree somewhat with the previous poster. This is a brand new place with the usual "growing pains" of a new establishment with a new concept and inexperienced waitstaff. My first impression was that I was the chaperone at one of my Grand-daughter's slumber parties. The ratio of very young female help to patrons was about four to one. All were very eager to do well in what is probably the first job for many, but they just didn't have the routine down yet. I'm sure this will evolve with time and experience.
That being said, the Shepard's Pie was large and fairly tasty. I didn't expect it to be on par with one would get at a neighborhood Irish Pub in Chicago, Milwaukee or NY, but compared with others I've been served in Greenville, it was A-OK. The potato topping could have been toasted a bit, but the meat was seasoned well. And it was a HUGE portion. Bianca and Corinne did their best to make one feel welcome.
The patron next to me tried the Bleu Burger and said it was very good. I elected to try it the next day for lunch. He was right. The meat was seasoned perfectly and cooked to my specifications. Nina, the bartender and waitress on the day shift obviously more experienced (She had worked at another restaurant previously) than the crew of the previous night. She showed the perfect balance bewteen being attentive without being obtrusive. I plan to go back to sample other items on the menu. (And if the owner elects to add Guinness draft to his offering, I will probably spend a few Saturdays afternoons there as well) Give 'em a try and Bon Appetit`
