Sakura Japanese Steakhouse

Sakura has always been a decent quick option for dinner. Tonight I got hibachi and the main entree was a great portion and tasty. However, I don’t really classify their “salad” as a salad. It consisted of 5 pieces of lettuce, 1 tomato and 1 cucumber. It’s not the main course but a good side salad can really compliment a great entree.

These lads are honestly the goated hibachi place in Gvegas. You can't get these portions and prices anywhere else, especially not for hibachi. And you get a show too. Dinner prices are pretty violated tho, unless you enjoy the added show budget. If you come to the hibachi section during slow hours and your party is small, you may have to wait a minute. Additionally, if you're the type to request a billion customizations for your meal, it'll take a minute to. But if you're a simple no onions lad like myself, it'll come out at the same time as everyone else's. Food's great too, of course.

Where do I start. We only seen our server like twice. At one point had to go get our own drinks. The cook was great! Got charged for two extra teas when the people had water. My son needed milk and they gave us a small cup and charged $3! Are you kidding me??? Then after awful service. I was charged $53 gratuity! I confronted them about this. I was told we’re not taking it off, you’re going to pay that. Then was told “ if you don’t like it don’t come back”. EXCUSE ME??!!!.

Bless their hearts, they have growing pains right now. We went on 7/1/22 with two other couples. We waited 15 minutes after being seated to get a drink order and 30 minutes later, still no drinks, so we had to go get our own. The cook gave my husband chicken he didn't order, and then had none for the lady who did order it. They gave it to her later, but who wants it after everyone else? One guy didn't get any vegetables at all. Meanwhile, while the poor waitress was in the weeds trying to do way too much, two girls at the front sat on their phones when they could have been clearing tables or handing out to-go boxes. The manager is the bartender, so clearly they are severely understaffed. We were promised comps for the inconvenience, which never happened. Then we were charged gratuity because we had six in our party for horrible service. Plus they charged all the drinks to the wrong parties. I'd wait a few months to see if they get their ducks in a row before I'd try that again. The food was great, but they have kinks they need to work out on the service side.

Arrived at the restaurant at 1:30pm. The hostess gave our party a wait time of 45 minutes. After AT LEAST 45 minutes our party moved inside to wait to be seated. The hostess told our group that the restaurant was closing at 3pm and that she would not seat us. Will never eat here again and will make it a point to tell others to avoid Sakura as well. Hope it was worth it.

The hibachi here taste great, especially the fried rice. The service from the wait staff was good. Now for the negatives. The cooks/chefs are pretty boring. Not very entertaining. And people want to he entertained at hibachi restaurants. Our shrimps were over cooked, with the consistency of rubber and the regular steak was tuff. The fillet mignon was good, although over cooked a bit. And lastly...this restaurant is over priced. If the cooks were more entertaining perhaps the high prices would be justified. All and all...I would not recommend this restaurant. Cleanliness is above average, wait time was not a little long. We were there at 8:00 pm on a Saturday night, 45 minute wait for a party of 4. Perhaps a reservation is needed.

DO NOT PURCHASE A GIFT CARD FROM SAKURA JAPANESE RESTAURANT! The food is good and service is fair. The restaurant The negative is I was given a $75 gift card for Christmas. On 6/5/22 I went to use the card only to find out that the card had been scammed. Never used the card that was issued on 12/13/21 only to find out the card was used on 12/14/21 for $25.00. I assume this is what happen, my neighbor purchased the $75.00 card and the employee recorded the gift card number and rang it up put in $25.00 and put fifty dollars in their pocket. On 12/14/22 the card was used for the remaining of the amount. Because of the dishonesty I choose to never eat here against.
