I love their pho and the grilled pork. They are wonderful. However, I quit eating here because after being a loyal customer for ten years and having introduced dozens of people, the staff still treated me like a stranger for whom they never even mustered a smile. I came to my senses and realized that there are too many other restauranteurs that work hard to make their customers feel welcome. But the food is good.
"Pho" means "noodle soup" in Vietnamese, and here are many (99?) variations with chicken, beef and mere vegetables, all reasonably priced and meticulously (if prosaically) served. A big date? No. A quick, inexpensive family meal? Perfect. Try it; with the right mindset, you'll probably love it, as I do.
This small restaurant has big surprises. My first experience with Vietnamese cuisine will not be my last. They offer a large selection of soups, mostly soups, served with fresh bean sprouts and mint on the side. A lot of bean sprouts and mint. The idea is to eat this soup with chop sticks and a traditional spoon, one for the meat and noodles, the spoon for the broth. I opted for a fork and spoon. This did not, however, interfere with the flavor. Friendly and energetic staff, crowded dining room, happy diners, and simple decor blend into Pho 99. Try it.
I pass this spot every day on my way home, and I’m glad I decided to stop in after the gym. I was really hungry and wanted a lot of food. The brisket pho was recommended and it was fantastic. 6-8 pieces of brisket came with it so I loaded it up with some smoked chicken from home. Fantastic! I will be back
Best pho options in Greenville. This is a must try for any fans of South Asian cuisine or Vietnamese connoisseurs. The serving sizes are plenteous. My wife and I usually share one bowl of pho.
There are no vegetarian options here, though. Even the vegetable dishes are flavored with meat, so those with convictions beware.
Contrary to their name, Pho 99's niche within Greenville's Vietnamese food community is actually their rice platters and bun bo hue. If you care for it, they're also one of the more authentic Vietnamese restaurant in town as well.
They answer the phone well and the food comes out quickly. In addition to my dine-in order I got three bun bo hues to go. They place the soup containers in a box and stack the noodle and toppings containers on top of it. I had to deal with 0 spills in my car, which is rare for liquid meals like that.
Have been more than once and always get the spring rolls. They're always good as well as the Pho. Tried their Vietnamese style coffee with condensed milk and its really sweet but really good.
Had a wonderful dinner here with friends. We sat here from 7 to close and they were very gracious and didn't pressure us to go. The pho was top notch. 👌
Best soup in town. Everything on the menu is fantastic. A personal favorite is the #2, goi cuon. So large, fresh and delicious.
