Loved the place!! We got a 2 meat plate an split it an we were both full an very happy! Brisket an sausage was amazing. But that baked potato salad was out of this world. Came home with 3 types of sausage an jerky an slim jims.. Ready to go back!!! Staff is great!!!
Amazing! Extremely generous with the portions. Food is fresh. Employees are awesome. Highly recommend dining in or take out. Chopped beef and ribs are my favorites with a side of potatoe salad.
In the 1960's my grandparents Papa Judge & Mama T (Tennessee) lived in Fulshear. Just a few streets away. We'd walk to Doziers store for treats.Doziers sausage was incredible. I'm traveling to Houston this wkend for a soccer tournament. Hope to go to Fulshear & find Doziers store. Hope the old store & the food are the way I remember it. Are there any Doziers still there?
I love Doziers! Best BBQ I ever tasted hands down! And their turkey is to die for! But the best thing is the BBQ sauce! If you've never been, u don't know what your missing! Trust me u will love it!
Definitely worth the drive for someone in the West Houston, Simonton, or Katy areas. We have been going here since 1996 and have not been disappointed.
When I arrived in Houston, I couldn’t stop thinking about BBQ, it is just a necessity when you’re in Texas! I just had a bit of a hard time choosing where to eat since there are really a lot of BBQ restaurants around the area. I heard about Dozier’s so I searched it on the web and got really curious.
Everything was so good in Dozier’s! The brisket, the ribs, the side dishes, everything! The fall-off-the-bone meat melts in my mouth which is oddly satisfying and mouthwatering. Their brisket also has a wide range of options like brisket on a biscuit, brisket hash, chicken fried brisket, and more! I couldn’t try everything because there’s a lot. Well, at least, I still have reasons to go back. Haha!
Stopped by to get some snacks for the car and a quick lunch for my son. Baked potato with turkey was really good. Only took a star off because the grocery half of the store was lacking selection. A lot of empty shelves and coolers.
I had heard about this place and I'm glad that I was able to go out to Fulshear and give it a try. It was some pretty solid barbecue, and the loaded baked potato salad was delicious. If in the area, definitely give it a go.
I had a half pound of brisket, two ribs, and an individual side which ended up costing about $25. I probably could have done with a little bit less food. My bad I guess for not knowing how much to order, but that's why I prefer places that just offer a "plate" style rather than selling by weight. It would also be nice if they offered fountain drinks be it soda or water rather than cans/bottled beverages.
The place is pretty neat. It's both a barbecue joint and a general store. But I don't know how much shopping happens here by non tourists. There is also some cool history on the walls. The recently added outdoor space with a cool "Fulshear" text mural is nice, but it was way too hot to spend any time out there.
Visited for their new brunch experience. Between us we had Brisket on a Biscuit, Chicken Fried Brisket and Pancakes, Brisket Hash, and The Burger. To drink we had tea, Cranberry Mimosa, and a Michelada.
.
We ordered at the counter and sat in a booth. The tea was from a fountain, but we had to wait 5 minutes for the cocktails. The food was served as it was ready.
.
The crust on the chicken fried brisket was fantastic. The burger was huge and delicious.
.
The only complaint was that the ranchero sauce on the hash was far too spicy for the guest. The biscuit could have used more gravy. The taste was there, however.
.
It was a good experience. The place is spacious inside with tasty food.
We had a great experience at Dozier's. We had the moist brisket, pork ribs, sausage, sides of Texas caviar, and potato salad, and they were all excellent. The moist brisket was exquisite with a smoky flavor and seasoning. The ribs fall off the bones as one would expect, and the sausage was terrific. The staff were amicable and told us how to order as we go down the food line - cold items first, then the hot items. We will go back there to eat again. Love this place!
I went there to purchase some of their world-class pecanwood smoked bacon and I must say, it's good as I thought it was. The gentleman that waited on me was very kind and informative. I will be returning when I run out of bacon. Thanks to all of kind folks at Dozier, it's not a hard decision to come back again.
What an amazing lunch. Really just kinda baffled, as to why it has taken me so long to make my first trip over here to Doziers BBQ .
As you walk in the door and approach the counter. The history of this establishment just smacks you right in the face. Pretty much every nook and cranny screams small town living, family, and good BBQ. Not only are they serving up some outstanding BBQ and sides. They run a full scale meat market and processing facility. House made sausage and bacon, are just some of the treats you can bring home to satisfy the family.
I was able to enjoy some brisket, a couple ribs and absolutely the most amazing collard greens I have ever had. I just couldn't put them down. They are so good I may have cussed when I took my first bite. Everything was cooked spot on, with plenty of flavor and did not disappoint.
Also not a bad day when Anthony McDonald gives you a tour, shares some knowledge, and let's you drool over the Moberg Smokers .
This is the best meat market hands down. They have the best bacon at reasonable prices of any store around. The staff and owner are awesome! Highly recommend.
