Essence House Cafe

I ordered the essence breakfast. When the food arrived it was very pleasing to the eye and appetizing. However, I ordered over medium eggs and received over easy, the potatoes and bacon were obviously not cooked to order as there were both ice cold. The pancakes were hot and fresh, but were lacking flavor. My breakfast with ice tea and tax was more than $16. No one ever came by the table to ask how my food was. I will not be back.

We had a delightful breakfast at this small Cafe. You order at the rest of the cafe, then find a table... It have your wife hold the table while you go up and order. . I had French Toast, bacon, and a bonus breakfast taco. Had I known how big the entree was, I would have slipped the taco. The toast was huge and littered with strawberries and blueberries. It was very good. The bacon was crisp without being burned. The taco was very large and the chorizo was delicious. . My wife struggled to finish her Pecan Waffle. It was large as well. Her sausage was tasty indeed, just a wee bit crumbly. . Our friends had a Red Omelet which he enjoyed, while she had the Club Sandwich. . Good was uniformly delicious, service was fast and efficient. This is a well-run place.

I was so excited to check out this cute cafe…we parked and strolled on over. The cafe itself is cozy, feels warm and inviting. The display case is filled with delicious looking cakes…we showed up 20 minutes prior to closing and the staff did not appear too excited about being there…the coffee was ok…the red velvet cookie was great…the chai tea latte tasted not very right - I’m not sure what happened but either someone filled a cup that contained existing residue or they just didn’t want to take the extra effort to stir a $5 cup of chai tea coffee. The chalk art on the wall is interesting.

I have been to going to Essence House for many years. I love the food. Breakfast is great, my favorite lunch item is the Green Gobbler sandwich. I used to stop by and pick up the homemade cookies, especially the ginger cookies. They no longer serve these fresh homemade cookies and from the taste of them and looks, they must purchase them from Sam’s. I was told the baker they used to have retired. This is disappointing. I hope they find a new baker.

Love this place but HATE the new process of stand in a long line order your food at the counter and pay. You might be able to sit and eat your food or maybe not. Makes ZERO sense but the food is always good. I suggest you get back to letting people sit and server them at the table like a normal place. Your size doesn’t support this model that well.
