Kemosabe

The food at this restaurant was pretty good. They had some great options and the ability to get food from both the sushi and the grill. The reason for the two stars is because we arrived at 7:00 in the evening and did not walk out till near 10:00. It was over an hour until we received our food. We also ordered takeout for when we left and our waitress lost that order and had to come back. She said “it won’t be long at all” for the takeout sushi but then it took another half hour to receive that. And then another 25 minutes for the check. We decided to leave a ten percent tip in cash for our waitress. As we were leaving we were warming up in the lobby of the restaurant and then she came to us and said “I saw you gave me only ten percent, what’s with that?!” To which we explained that we were pretty unhappy with our service. She retorted back “well, this isn’t a fast food joint and we have to split our tips with the chefs” I have never had an experience where a waiter or waitress confronted their customers for the tip they received. It is highly unprofessional and disrespectful. We will not be eating at this restaurant again.

The facility is small but intimate. The sushi was fresh and well prepared. We had also ordered their oysters which was $3 per oyster. The price per oyster was a bit too much when you compare it to the size that you’re getting. Overall is was a great experience and we will definitely be coming again the next time we’re in town!
