Use to LOVE this place. Apparently they are under new management now and the food is completely different. Instead of New Orleans style brunch it’s more of an American style dinner. Not the worst thing but if you expect to get food like the pictures from 2 years ago then you’ll be dissatisfied.

Outstanding food and friendly service. Our table had three different dishes all were very good. Was a bit envious of the chicken and waffles so I went back for takeout a few days later - Hands down the best waffles I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and try them. You won't regret it.

After seeing the pictures of the food we had to try Hopping Johns & we’re way glad we did! I had the chicken philly sandwich & my husband had the chopped steak over mashed potatoes. Both had amazing flavors! I was also super impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant & bathroom. Food came out quick & our waiter was awesome.

I was in town on business for 2 days and wanted to try something other than the same old food chain. This place had great reviews and was right by the courtyard, where I was staying. I'm so glad I tried this place. The philly sandwich was so awesome I came back the next day to try the ham and cheese since it looked so good. Both lunches were awesome and you can tell the guy has a passion for what he does. I highly recommend this place for lunch. I'm sure dinner would be awesome but I only ate lunch there both days. Very neat atmosphere as a bonus.

Sunday brunch was outstanding! Service was fantastic and the food was perfect. The country potatoes on the side were the best I've ever had. The Bloody Mary bar is beyond belief... Everything you could imagine putting in a Bloody Mary and more is available. (Even Slim Jim's!) Even if you don't drink, stop in for brunch and make yourself a Crazy Bloody Mary while you wait.

Service was great, food was good (menu choices seemed like an odd combination), other patrons were loud drinkers and smokers (we sat on the patio) so that was kind of annoying. If we go again I think we will go for lunch and sit inside. Seemed a little pricey for what we got, but I will say the burger tasted like it was made with quality beef so you get what you pay for I suppose. Also, both burgers came with three plastic cups full of mayo, mustard, and ketchup. I hope they will change this as it’s a big waste of condiments and plastic. I didn’t need any of the three.

Chicken and waffles TO DIE FOR. French egg was also great, chopped steak maybe got too much flame, luckily I don't mind a little bit of char. Great, friendly staff. If you're going to do Sunday brunch, be advised the place will be packed within minutes of opening.
