Arctic Circle

We were visiting Emmett and realized the Arctic Circle was a couple blocks away from where we were staying, so decided we would take an evening walk to get an ice cream cone. We got there, only to realize the dining room was closed. We walked back, got our vehicle and went to the drive thru. We were "greeted" at the speaker by a woman who was irritable at best. We ordered our cones and were told the cones we wanted weren't available because they were getting ready to close. We asked if any ice cream was still available, to which she gave us our options, followed by "and that's IT. And we close in 2 minutes, so hurry up." We placed our order into the speaker and received an audible sigh in response, followed by our order total. Pulling forward to the window, we received no pleasantries, just a request for the total due. When she brought our two cones to us, she said nothing, just slamming the window closed after shoving cones in my husband's hands. I have had many instances of poor service but never as disrespectful as this. I was blown away! 😳

Besides having to call Arctic Circle 10 times before I can get through to them, tonight I had a very bad experience that will officially stop me from coming to this particular location again. First of all, Idaho is almost completely open and the McDonald’s next door has started opening the inside of their store. Why isn’t Arctic Circle doing the same? In regard to this particular experience, after the 10th time of calling, a girl answered and when I asked if I could make an order for walk-up, she said they aren’t doing that tonight. When asking why not, she very rudely told me it’s because they’re too busy. Too busy to accept business? I get that y’all are short-staffed, but first, you don’t need to be rude about it. Secondly, don’t turn down business. At least you guys are getting it when most days, you barely get anyone coming to your store at all, and if this is how they’re going to treat customers, I can see why they rarely get business. Guess I’ll be taking my business to McDonald’s from now on when I feel like a burger and fries.

We have lived in Emmett now for 1 1/2 years. Even though we lived only 8 miles from Emmett for the past 16 years we rarely came here to to eat. After checking out a few places we became very fond of the staff at the Artic Circle, therefore they became our primary destination for a quick meal. I know the attrition at fast food restaurants is high but typically teaching the culture is the number one priority for owners and managers. The last several times we have been there (almost always later in the evening) we have noticed an obvious change in the staff. The kindness, generosity, and small town feel is seemingly a thing of the past and has caused us to simply drive away more than once. I am hoping the owners will have the opportunity to read this review, I would challenge them to travel through the drive through as well one evening and judge for themselves if they would rate the experience higher than one star. We would love to support them, however there are others that have now earned our business. This new evening staff needs to understand the importance of great customer service.

Waited in line for a half an hour for a child's ice cream cone I still got charged full price. The guy in front of me sat there for a solid 10 minutes talking with them in order to Shake in a small ice cream himself. I was so upset because my daughter and I were late, but couldn't leave her ice cream do not recommend ever so tired of the disrespect this Arctic Circle delivers
