The ayam chicken was very tender. It just falls right off the bone, and also very flavorful. The appetizers were alright and they have a lot of vegetarian options but I mainy come here for the entrees.
Went into the restaurant and was promptly seated and order was taken immediately. They have vegetarian dishes on the menu and the prices are quite reasonable (<$10)because they have a special price selection menu from 12-4:30. Food was brought to the table quickly and smelled good. First two bites of the food were very strange as it’s very different from everything I’ve ever eaten. But soon after my taste buds adjusted to the novelty taste. Cleaned the plate before the bill came. Overall, great and interesting experience.
Delicious food. Nice behavior. I never tried Indonesian food before. I found this place on google map while I was searching for halal ramen. I thought they have ramen but when I got there They told me They don’t have ramen but I was so hungry so I had to order something so I ordered noodles with shrimp, ayam gorenhg balado, Dendeng balado, es teler. I don’t know about anyone else but I loved al of them specially noodles with shrimp. I will go there again. Btw our server was so helpful and polite. She asked us how was food if we needed anything else.
We went for a weekday lunch and enjoyed the food, drinks and service. We had the Sate Ayam appetizer: chicken served in a nice peanut sauce. For our mains we went with the very good Gulai Udang Tahu Petai and good, but not great, Gulai Cumi lunch special. The young coconut juice is refreshing and not overly sweet. Our server was friendly and polite. The restaurant is nice and clean. I will return, if in the neighborhood and in the mood for Indonesian cuisine.
This is my favorite Indonesian place in the city. I'd say it's one of my favorite restaurants in general. I always get the gado gado, and a chicken or beef dish (the rendang is excellent). It's got a home-cooked vibe, and the staff is usually friendly.
Probably the best Indonesian restaurant I've ever been to in the States. The food is so authentic. I felt like I was back home. The owner is Indonesian & she made everything from scratch. The only negative thing is that it's in New York & not in Seattle, otherwise I would go here all the time. :D
My Indonesian friend told me about this hidden place. The foods are amazing and delicious.
I definitely come back again :)
Upi Jaya just reopened after being closed down for months. I went a few days ago and they Are as great as ever. There is limited outdoor seating, but still the same fantastic food and prices.
Seriously amazing food at low prices. The staff is friendly and attentive. My girlfriend and I are vegetarian and there is a full vegetarian friendly menu that we are slowly going through. We haven't had a bad meal yet. We are especially fond of the jumbo beans. A full meal for the two of us with bottomless tea was only $24.
I was heading to a Thai restaurant in the area but then changed my mind. I've had delicious nasi rames special dendeng balado, a thin sliced crispy beef with green chili on top serves over rice in a mildly flavor yellow curry sauce and a side of stew vegetable. good service & awesome flavor. очень вкусная еда. Спасибо
Small place with excellent food and service. Highly recommend the rendang.
