El Gauchito

I am from Argentina. In all my time living in the US, trying many, many Argentinean restaurants in NYC and around the country, this is the best. Pasta that is truly like that in Buenos Aires. Great milanesa de pollo. Great steaks. Empanadas that are oven-baked rather than the typical friend empanadas common to NYC. Try the dulce de leche mousse for dessert.

Fantastic Argentine Parillada at this local Argentine hangout in Corona, Queens. Excellent variety of Argentine beef cuts and a classic parillada with steak, sausage, morcilla (blood sausage) and the offal (sweetbreads, kidney’s and chinchuline), all tasty and excellently done. This place under fine ownership knows how to do Argentine right.

Ive been coming here for over 20 years and Its one of the best Argentinean steak spots in NYC. Even though the price has steadily increased its still worth it. Ive been to all 3 locations and loved them all. My favorite is this one since they have a butcher shop in the place. Their chimichurri sauce is amazing. If you want to try something other then their grilled steaks, I would recommend the Milanesa Napolitana. They make it really good here. Plus, its Leo Messi’s favorite dish, how can you go wrong 😂. The only down side id the service, the older lady is a very good waitress and you wont be disappointed if you get her. Shes the best. I recently got a younger female waitress and she just wasnt attentive or good. But overall, food is 5 stars!!!!

Had an amazing time for lunch at El Gauchito. We got the parrillada and you could tell the meat was very high quality. However, if you know your meat cuts you could tell that it was not what was advertised—- skirt steak was definetly not the good part of the skirt steak. Still, would definetly come again 😊 Service and ambiance were great too. Still, I prefer buying meat for delivery!
