In the space of a year the owners have created a great neighborhood meeting place. Delicious bar food, a HUGE selection of libations and a friendly inclusive atmosphere. I first found this gem back in July and it has been a staple in my Denver experience. The peppered bacon cheddar burger is my life! If you go on Mondays they throw in a free beer with the burger, so you might as well get two! I’m actually headed there this evening to celebrate my 38th. It’s just the right place to do so! Love you guys.
Many bars and restaurants deep in a hotel district like the Denver Tech Center are typically generic and average, but not the Griffin. For just a moment you're transported to a friendly neighborhood pub, with an upbeat atmosphere and very friendly staff. The food is very good, standard pub fair, but the selection of local drinks is superb. With an outside patio to relax on, or a loud and festive bar inside with table seating, The Griffin is the perfect getaway in this otherwise businessman-centric part of Denver.
It was one of the best burgers I have had. The char on meat was excellent, veggies were fresh, cheddar cheese was good, and bacon flavorful. The Sweet Potato Waffle Fries were crisp, not oily, and tasty. The price for quality and location in DTC was excellent. Chef and bartender were friendly and very helpful. I would highly recommend this place for those looking for good drinks and food at affordable prices in DTC area.
Found this Griffin Tavern due to the Hound's Kitchen closing before 10pm... naturally we asked the Bar Tender of places to eat in the DTC with a Kitchen still Open. She gave 3 choices 2 of which are irrelevant since I've been to the other 2. But...
Out of the 3 she said and I quote "Definitely Griffin" well she wasn't wrong Great atmosphere open until 2AM rare in DTC anymore. Kitchen open until Midnight. My Bar Tender Ester said she likes the Krispy Chicken Sandwich but tossed in buffalo I added Bacon and if I'm Lying I'm Dying!!! Food was phenomenal service was phenomenal. Atmosphere was perfect and food was also out the kitchen and no time flat. I Highly Recommend

This is a classic dive bar spot in the DTC area. If you are looking for a spot that hits the spot and doesn’t break the bank check it out if your nearby.
Burgers range from $13-17 depending on sides and add ons.
Reasonable happy hour as well if you prefer to do a sampler of their sides and wings.
First time visiting Griffin Tavern. We had a fantastic experience. Great service, good food, and nice atmosphere. The highlight of our evening was meeting Zach, the GM, and the young man that runs the kitchen….(wish I would’ve gotten his name). Both young men went above and beyond to make sure we had a nice evening. Personal, attentive care, is something you don’t find much these days. This will definitely be our new, go-to spot. Thanks to all the staff!!!
I like Griffin. Food is good. Music is a little too loud for my ears, but that is subjective, and others might be okay. (they turned it up louder while I was there, but it was not busy). I enjoy sitting outside where it is not so loud, but it was a bit cold for that this last time. The staff are great and attentive. I have honestly only had appetizers, so I can't speak to their full meals.
I hardly write reviews but this young lady deserves to be recognized. Nowadays people do the bare minimum and it’s hard to get them to come back to your table after you already got one drink and food from them but my waitress this afternoon was impeccable, I believe her name was Ora. You could tell she takes pride in what she does. I watched her work the whole restaurant by herself inside and out. Communicating with her tables, running food, running drinks, cleaning and resetting tables and making sure no one was feeling neglected all with a smile on her face. She’s definitely someone you want to keep on your team!
This is a very good bar/tavern. The drinks were very good and moderately priced. I decided to get a small snack and I was very impressed. I ordered the side of greens (their version of a side salad) and some green chili, both dishes were incredible. The salad was much larger than a typical side salad and had a good balance of greens and crunch elements. The green chili was amazing, be warned it packs a lot of heat. If you add sour cream and cheese to the green chili, it cools the chili, as well as provides great balance. My server was very attentive and courteous, which added to my great experience.
I visited The Griffin Tavern on a whim, and I was completely satisfied with there drinks and food.
Easy to walk to/from Marriott hotel. Friendly and prompt service. Went here on a Wednesday night and was busy and lively. Chicken wings were great. Multiple TVs.
A great locals bar. They stay open late which is great for service industry. Who would have thought cheese curds with caramel sauce would be my new favorite thing. The bartenders are outstanding. Jen and Sean know their craft and are super friendly and inviting.
