Wow. Impressive. So I just stopped for an appetizer on the patio with a cocktail and got more than I bargained for; an amazing meal & experience. Tried five different cocktail from their list. All amazing. The complimentary bread consists of pretzel sticks and a crusty Italian loaf.
Tried two different tenderloins, both fork cuttable juicy and cooked perfectly to medium rare as requested even as baseball cuts. The scallops were perfect, as was the Chilean sea bass that I highly recommend. The bass was perfection, juicy big flakes so tender it fell apart. Both mashed potatoes; regular and the champagne truffle sauced were yummy. And my kid love the fresh off the kernel corn (big kudos on that). The bar & inside dining area was elegant and I only saw part of it as there was an upstairs too. See my pictures for the meals and drinks. Highly recommended.
Service- excellent. Waitress was very familiar with the menu and wine list.
I had the cod special with lobster ravioli. Scrumptious!
Was it worth two bills? Yup.
This was my last night working in Denver...so my husband and I chose a romantic and quaint Steakhouse located in Larimer. It was ok... Not the absolute best steakhouse but the service and hospitality superseded the food. The waitstaff, strawberry cocktail, live pianist, and creme brûlée... Made up for the average filet.
Great Birthday Meal. Went to Ocean Prime for our daughter’s birthday dinner with her husband. This is probably our 5th visit to the Denver restaurant. For some bizarre reason we always get seated at the same table – which is great because we have a beautiful view of Larimer Street and all the lights. Now on to the food and service – waiter was exceptional and very attentive and our meal from start to finish was fantastic. Steaks were cooked to perfection and the sides were tasty. Highly recommend this restaurant – expensive but worth every penny!
This was a wonderful experience. The service was seamless, the food was delicious, and the room was beautiful. It is everything I could wish for in a perfect testaurant experience.
Delicious 10 oz. filet with Bearnaise sauce, garlic mashed and broccoli. Cheerful, meticulous service. Generously sized and excellent crime brûlée. Great French press coffee. Wonderful food experience and lively atmosphere. BUT it was noisy, and if not with good friends, the expense would not have been worth it to me.
Great time, great atmosphere! Food was great- crab cake, calamari, and truffle mac and cheese were highlights! Can't wait to go back!
First visit was for my daughter's birthday, we were blown away by the food, service, and ambience! Have never been disappointed. Tori K
Outstanding. This restaurant takes serious pride in their product. The most creative and expertly concocted cocktails in Denver, excellent appetizers (the calamari may be the best in Denver), and the service you would expect from a premier steakhouse will exceed your expectations. The a la carte sides may have standard fare names, but they are not standard. The bacon creamed spinach is nothing you'll find at Morton's and the lobster mashed potatoes uses a full tail. You will eat well beyond your stomach's capacity. The bone-in ribeye was excellent but made all the better when topped with their truffle butter. OMG! Should you need to add a bit of suite, you will not be disappointed with their Alaska Bake, another you will not find at Capital Grille or the other local fine restaurants in the area. Bottom line, if you are a foodie with some extra cash or have a special occasion to celebrate and want to do it in style in a restaurant that appreciates you being there, Ocean Prime is an excellent choice.
We sat in the bar and dined on some the most wonderful seafood EVER. Highly recommended
Food: I have been here multiple times and the food is always fantastic. The seafood is high quality and always fresh. I would highly recommend the jumbo crab cake. It is perfectly seared on the outside and delicious crab inside. It also comes served with a slaw. It actually is pretty big too. I would also recommend the surf and turf appetizer. You can’t go wrong with scallops seared to perfection and short ribs so tender you don’t need a knife. As far as dessert, you literally can’t go wrong! I love their 10 layer carrot cake.
Service: Every time I have gone, the staff was always very attentive, friendly, and made great recommendations. They were always respectful of the time because normally I would have a show to attend at the Denver Center of Performing Arts.
Highly recommended eating here for any occasion!
We had a very nice meal here in the bar area. The shrimp cocktail was excellent with an in-house cocktail sauce. The Chilean Sea Bass was cooked to perfection with a light, citrusy vinegarette over the top. The ravioli was dressed lightly and the goat cheese and mushrooms were very well seasoned. We finished with a butter cake and berries that was also good. It's a great special occasion place as well.
My wife and I were visiting Denver and decided to stop in on a Saturday night. The restaurant was crowded but we were seated right away treated to some delicious popcorn. My wife ordered twin lobster tails and I got the grouper. The food was excellent. My meal came with some of the best gnocchi I have ever had. The atmosphere was great too given the location in Larimer Square. I would highly recommend Ocean Prime.
I must say, I absolutely adore this Ocean Prime establishment. The service here is truly exceptional, and the quality of the food and drinks is simply outstanding. Luke, our favorite bartender, consistently provides a level of service that goes above and beyond. His positive energy never fails to brighten our visits. We also had the pleasure of meeting Alice, and her warmth and friendliness were equally delightful.
Every time I step foot in Ocean Prime, I’m welcomed like friend by them, and it’s a feeling that keeps me coming back. The combination of the remarkable service, delectable food, and delightful drinks ensures that this place will always have a special place in my heart.
Recently, Luke recommended the tuna tartare, even though I’m not typically a fan of raw fish. To my surprise, I tried it, and I found myself scraping every last bit off my plate. It was an exceptional dish and a testament to the outstanding recommendations you can expect at Ocean Prime.
The experience is great. The dry ice made the meal fun and exotic. Thr food was amazing.
It is pricey but it is amazing quality. The fish is juicy and we'll seasoned. The oysters to lobster was very fresh and didn't have a overwhelming fishnets.
You will need to find parking in advance or pay heavy on valet or close parking.
Located in Downtown Denver on the corner of historic Larimer Square, Ocean Prime is an ideal place to socialize and indulge in Happy Hour in the Lounge. Happy Hour is offered Monday through Friday from 4-6pm. All Lounge food offerings are $5 off and there are $8 Specialty Cocktails, $8 select red & white wines, & $5 local beers.
I valeted my car right by Ocean Prime on Larimer Square for $10 with validation from the restaurant.
We arrived at Ocean Prime and were seated at a high-top table in the Lounge. The aesthetic was high-end and sophisticated with chestnut woods and dark blue uplighting. Our server Elliot had great flair and happy hour recommendations. Managers Chris and Nick ensured customers had everything they needed and were well taken care of.
For cocktails I had the Black Orchid - only $8 during happy hour - made with Belvedere Organic Blackberry & Lemongrass Infusion, St. Germain, Fresh Lemon & White Cranberry Juice. This cocktail is my favorite at Ocean Prime. The Black Orchid came in a martini glass with an ice orb that held an orchid flower inside. The cocktail had aromas and flavor notes of blackberry & lemon that burst onto the palate with a lovely juicy sweetness that refreshed.
Jaclyn had the Reposado Paper Plane made with Casamigos Reposado, Aperol, St. Germain, & Fresh Lemon Juice. The Reposado Paper Plane was the National Cocktail Competition Winner of People's Choice Awards.
The Ahi Tuna Tartare was made with Avocado, Pickled Ginger, Sour Cream, & Citrus Ponzu. The Tuna Tartare was an elegant raw appetizer filled with fresh, light ingredients. The sushi-grade ahi tuna pieces were generous in size and had a soft texture against the satisfying crunch of the wonton crisps.
The Prime Roll was made with Tempura Shrimp, Cream Cheese, Scallion, & Beef Carpaccio. The thinly sliced beef carpaccio sat atop the sushi roll and gave it a savory flavor. The tempura shrimp in the roll had a delicate crunch that folded into the smooth cream cheese.
The Ocean Roll was made with #1 Tuna, Salmon, Hamachi, Avocado, & Chili Garlic Oil. The Ocean Roll was fresh and vibrant. The hamachi was smoothly luscious. The chili garlic oil added subtle spice that enhanced the richness of the tuna, salmon, and hamachi.
The Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli were made with Golden Oak Mushrooms. The ravioli was wonderful - a richly flavored pasta filled with smooth goat cheese.
For our seafood main we split the Teriyaki Salmon made with Shiitake Sticky Rice, Soy Butter Sauce. This is one of the best salmon entrees you can find in Denver. The salmon was juicy and flakey and coated in the bold & thick teriyaki glaze. The sticky glaze combined with the soy butter sauce gave the salmon a perfect combo of sweet tang.
For dessert we had the Warm Butter Cake made with Fresh Berries, Vanilla Ice Cream, Raspberry Sauce. The cake was piping hot with vanilla ice cream melting atop. The crisp sugar exterior gave way to a densely buttery interior making for decadent gooey bites of the cake.
The food is as outstanding! Danny our server did an amazing job as well, excellent service. We enjoyed the Chilean sea bass and branzino dish along with calamari for appetizers. Every single dish was amazing but the highlight would have to be the Chilean sea bass, absolutely superb! Nice ambiance and we had a nice city view upstairs, highly recommended.
It’s a great place for having with one of the best calamari I ever had. It’s a little expensive but the food is really good. We tried some sushi, calamari lamb chops, ribeye etc. Everything tasted great! Do try the restaurant if you are in Denver downtown. Forgot to mention they have some good vegetarian options too.
We enjoyed this restaurant for a Friday night dinner. The service was excellent. We were seated on time for our reservation, the drinks came out swiftly, and we had time between ordering our appetizers, receiving them, and ordering our entrées.
We ordered the crab cake and the surf and turf appetizers, and they were excellent. In fact, the best items we ordered. For dinner, I ordered the jumbo shrimp cocktail, and my husband got the strip steam. And, we got the jalapeño au gratin and the mushrooms for sides.
The shrimp and steak were just ok, the au gratin was excellent and the mushrooms were bland.
I would definitely go back to try other menu items.
Shannon our server took terrific care of my family and I! Ahi tuna appetizer was fantastic! Steaks done to perfection! Kept us on time for our concert at Ball arena.
Thank you again for a terrific night out!!
