I love places like this. An all around, everything you would expect from a place that's been a Detroit staple since the 40's. No matter what your normal may be. If you want to get of your safe space and try a different experience. Than this is a place for you. Bartenders were great, food was great. I had to try the Cheeseburger and the Grilled Chesse. No complaints from me!!!! I will be back soon.

Huge disappointment after hearing about their hamburgers for years. They don’t let you have a glass of water. You have to buy bottled water or a drink and then you can have water. STRIKE ONE. My barely warm greasy cheeseburger (I think there was cheese )with a dry bun was served on a piece of wax paper, no basket, no plates, no nothing. We were given one plastic fork to share and the pickles were served in a ziplock bag. STRIKE TWO. The almost warm cheeseburger had zero flavor….Was it just me? No, my wife agreed and the lady at the table next to us kept putting salt on hers with every bite she took to help validate this claim. STRIKE THREE. Cash only with no heads up, no menu, small cheap napkins, not a good value, etc…STRIKE 4,5,6,7.

This place has been an iconic burger place in the area for years.
The burgers are so amazing ranked as one of the best I've had. The entire experience and atmosphere is just so cool. You walk in and seat yourself someone comes up and asks what you want, no menus just order your food. Then when you are done go up to the cash register and tell them what you ordered. It's on the honor system and it seems to work. I'm so glad places like this have been able to stay open.
The burgers were so juicy and cooked perfectly. You get just the right amount of juice coming out it's not really greasy I don't know what else to say but they are just cooked right.
Place is clean and staff is very friendly cannot recommend this place enough.

Good old time basic bar, simple menu. everything tasted fresh and delicious. Burger was excellently seasoned. Onion rings were a great side to go with. Cash Only and no barbecue sauce is why it does have a 5 star. Place was clean and super friendly staff and that will get ya to laugh.

Throwback to great food, good people and trust. The burgers are out of the world good, and very simple. Then to paid its a honor system, go to the bar and let them know what you ate. Who does that anyone? It’s just all round amazing!!!

Love the place. Honor system on your bill. Huge cheese burgers, (Velveeta or Swiss), served on a wax paper. No frills. You'll run into old friends and make new friends. I've been enjoying the place since 1975, while attending UM-Dearborn.

Delicious! Simple, yet cooked to perfection. I ordered my burger mid rare, which required no condiments what so ever! Quick and kind service! FYI, there's an ATM @ the front door.

It would be nice if they take credit card. I have to go out of my way to acquire cash just to eat there. Friends and I would eat there more often but they don't take credit card. Also it be nice if they had a better selection of real beer instead of rice water.
