First of all, this place gets a 10 out of 10. The food bangs. Period. You aren't there for smiles and hugs, you are there for the most delicious BBQ/soulfood in Cleveland or anywhere NEAR Cleveland for that matter. Did you ever think that maybe the reason they are out of ribs is because that place bangs ribs out all day and all night? They are BUSY!!! ALWAYS!! Call ahead and order....check your food before u walk out. I promise that mac n chz will take u straight to heaven. The baked beans are the best I've ever had. Anyone who complains about this spot should just stick with their McDonald's and keep on moving.
Good food /bad customer service...like anywhere else. Ppl on here complaining about the wait or the lines. ITS A BBQ /SOULFOOD spot, wth you expect. U want fast service, go to a FAST FOOD spot. And I agree with the place having ppl with bad attitudes, but they are no different than the ppl who smile at you while talking crap in a NICE way. Grow a backbone and demand respect. Id rather a person show me who they are rather than pretending to be someone else. This place has been in business for years, so one less customer won't matter. Fyi...I am not from the "hood", but it aint nothing in the hood that aint in the suburbs! And if you don't know what soul food is GOOGLE it. U can't call mcdonalds and ask them to read off their menu can you? SMFH AT THESE REVIEWS

I love this place I always get the polish boy. The food is always fresh and made when you order it.
OMG. I love the food but the service is poor. the staff members look and act GHETTO! if you are from the hood stay in the hood and eat at OPEN PIT but if you are not don't because you will have to wait and see people and things that are very unappealing. GOOD LUCK OPEN PIT!
This was without a doubt, The Best Polish Boy I’ve ever had! The fries were crisp. The perfect amount of heat. 🌶️ ❤️

Desserts by the slice: I ordered the Pineapple Upside down cake, yellow cake with chocolate frosting, chocolate cake with chocolate frosting – they cost, but if you want homemade moist and delicious tasting cake – you gotta pay. I’m a diabetic and I regret nuthin’!
Wing dinner: 5 wings with bread and two sides. I chose mac n cheese and yams. - I ended up eating so much that I worked my way into a food coma. Again, I regret nuthin’!
I got a wing with sauce snack pack with a extra wing, b/c it only comes with 2 wings. It was so good. I can admit, I hadn't eaten there in years and it hit the spot for lunch. Was disappointed that they didn't have any fish in stock, b/c I was gonna get my mother a fish dinner since I was there. But overall it met my expectations.
Open Pitt is one of my go-to spots and they never disappoint. I just ordered a polish boy and snack pack and it came hot, and cooked to perfection 🔥 Food + Service is great - highly recommend!!
Ordered on door dash but the food was fresh. I grew up eating hot sauce Williams And open pit was like a blast from the past. I absolutely loved the bbq sauce. I feel like you have to know what you are getting into eating at a Cleveland bbq spot. iykyn, price is extremely reasonable.
They were out of quite a few items when I went. The Polish Boy was BOMB though! It's not the place to go for ambiance, but if you want some classic Cleveland food, this is THE place to go.
Had a great time speaking with the cashier. She mentioned being short staffed but I let her know she was alright with me. This is in EC so...... you should know what to expect. More of grab n go place, no place to sit down and eat but I promise you won't make it to the car without driving into your plate of food. There's a bit of everything on the menu including stuff not shown online. Wings with sauce was good, polish boy was good n so was the whiting.

You just get a rib dinner and most of the time it's a long rib dinner with fat
