I love Baronas! I had my first cassata cake at my 20th birthday and I’ve bought them every year since, I’m 27 now. And now I get them for my mom too lol
It’s sad to see the complaints about the customer service, but it’s even worse to see very Very grown adults complaining about teenagers. Some grace (and resolve) is needed. Obviously maturity does not come with age, and I’m not talking about the teenagers.
Accountability, common courtesy, grace, respect, and maturity can get you very far in life (and more specifically as a customer).
Owning and operating a bakery isn’t easy. 100 years in business is amazing! Imagine what time they even have to arrive so their customers can have delight in their day, imagine the challenges they face daily. Especially when eggs cost an arm and a leg!
Grace. Grace from the owners. Grace from the employees. And grace from the customers. Grace is everyone’s responsibility.
March 2022: Stopped in one day because I was curious about their offerings. Ordered the cherry turnover, pecan tart, and the lemon burst.
Pros:
* Quiet, quaint, little bakery with all the usual suspects...cakes, cookies, cannolis, creme horns, etc.
* Ample parking on the side of the building with enough spots for like 8-10 vehicles.
* Food was good and reminded me of many of the bakeries inside the Westside Market (manily the lemonburst). The cherry turnover filling was okay, but I enjoyed the soft, flaky crust a lot more.
Cons:
* The baked goods were good, but not exceptional. I probably would not go out of my way to drive down there.
Conclusion: I will return whenever I am in the area again.
I always go in there for the cookies especially the apple crisp. The peanut butter chocolate chips are just plain evil, I can never just eat one. The people there are extremely friendly and work diligently to fill your order. I ordered a cassata cake and described the type of decorations I wanted. It was spot on. And it was the best cassata cake I have ever had, I would even have to say better than anything I've gotten from Little Italy.
This is one of the best bakeries in Cleveland. Definitely the best cassada cake in Cleveland. If you haven't had theirs, do yourself a favor and try it, they sell it by the slice Wednesday through Saturday!
My family has been going to Baraona’s Bakery for the last 20+ years. We have never been disappointed. The owners and staff are professional and keep the interior of the bakery immaculate. As important as that is, their cakes and pastries are the best in the City! Their nut roll , carrot cake, and cassata cake are our favorites.
When I needed a cassata cake they came through in a pinch. when you walk through the door the overpowering smell of goodness fills your nose might make it a little hard to buy just one item. the staff is beyond friendly and efficient I was helped within a minute of walking in. I would definitely come back to sample everything they sell it looks delicious. This place is definitely diet well it's part of a well balanced diet. This is a must try!
I love their cookies, especially the almond joy and ginger molasses. I always buy extra for my family but end up eating them myself!
I bought a 1/4 sheet cassata cake for an Italian party. It was fabulous!! Everyone raved about it. They were excited to learn it came from Baraona's Bakery.
Been hearing that this bakery has the best Cassatta Cake in Cleveland ... very intriguing since it is far from Little Italy. Finally stopped in and picked one up ... very good!
Your cookies are amazing. Chocolate chunk, chocolate peanut butter, snickers, and caramel apple are all delicious! Better than Crumble Cookies! 😘
