Red Bowl

I've eaten here before and I've eaten at this chain before in other towns and it's usually fairly consistent. I LOVE chicken satay! I'm traveling for work and just wanted a light dinner so I ordered that and a side of rice. It was ok. The chicken was chewy almost leathery and didn't really have a flavor. I asked for it with the peanut sauce rather than yum yum sauce. The peanut sauce was very dark, sweet, and syrupy. I've had this dish at this location before and recalled it being quite good. Not so much tonight. Service was ok. The server was audibly tired and didn't want to be there, she was telling her tables that. She also reaked of cigarettes. I'll probably pass on Red Bowl next time I'm in town.

I love Red Bowl. But unfortunately, this location disappointed me. I ordered the Bento box with the Red Bowl Roll. The food came out and looked delish. By the time I made it to my sushi, it just didn’t taste the same. My order was taken and placed in the system correctly, however, I received the Crunchy Roll. My waiter offered to make the correct roll, but by that time, I was ready to leave and head back to my hotel room. I came back today (2 days later) and ordered my usual wine, and JUST the Red Bowl Roll. Fingers crossed that my order comes out accurately. Update: Today’s experience was perfect. All smiles.

The food here is seriously good, as well as the atmosphere, location, and service. I've been here four or so times with a few different people, and it's always been great. I'm no sushi connoisseur, but what I've tried is really enjoyable. To top it off, Red Bowl is fairly affordable for what you're getting. I have zero major complaints, and this place is one of my favorite restaurants overall in Clemson.

My second visit today. I was not that impressed the first visit, the walnut shrimp was just ok. Today was terrible. I ordered chicken pad thai and an egg roll. The pad thai hardly had any flavor & smelled like shrimp when I took the lid off the container. No spice at all. Not worth the carbs with no flavor. I threw it away. I am not sure if it was due to being a carry out order or what. Tried the egg roll, the same no flavor & all cabbage. I do not recommend and I will never return.
