Mexicano's

Cozy Mexican eatery which is a standout amongst the various establishments in the area. Amazing food, reasonably priced cocktails and friendly staff. FAST service! We showed up with no reservation on a busy public holiday evening and the staff had no hesitation in finding us a table with the proviso that they would need the table free in an hour. Given how promptly the food and drinks were delivered even with the place around 90% full, there was no danger of us exceeding that 1 hour time limit! If you're looking for some quality Mexican food and a margarita (or two) at reasonable prices, you'd be hard pressed to find a better spot than this.

We went to Mexicano's for a work dinner there were 7 of us, we shared all of our food, it was amazing, the service was great and so was the atmosphere. A big shout out to Ruby Mae for making everything so easy at the end of the night and right through the dining experience. I definitely will be recommending to others.

We had a really lovely dinner! The service was excellent, everyone was lovely, attentive without being overbearing and just incredible attention to detail. The food was tasty and the cocktails were out of this world. We had a pram with us and our little dude was a little grumbly but that didn't disrupt others, he eventually fell asleep (I think he enjoyed the music).

Warmly greeted upon entrance and taken to our table. We requested a low table on our booking but were seated on stools and a leaner. Maybe this was an oversight, but we didn't bother to bring it up. We started with chips and guacamole which were delicious. The guacamole had a we bite to it which was nice! Mains were a selection of tacos which were all mouthwatering. I tried a soft shell crab taco. Wasn't to my liking but was well presented. We also had a beef quesadilla which was cheesy heaven. The restaurant was lively and the staff all looked happy and the mood and ambience were perfect! Will definitely be back with friends!

I have to rate this 5/5 stars. We had a group of 5, including my elderly father (80 yrs), so probably the atmosphere wasn't quite right for him as he found it hard to hear with background noise and music, and hard to read the menu in the dim lighting. However, I was highly impressed with the service when we arrived 10-15 minutes early and our table wasn't quite ready. We were asked to wait at the bar but given how packed it was (Friday night), there were no seats anywhere. When I pointed out that we had my elderly father with me, the staff happily found a seat for him until the table was ready. The food was absolutely awesome as well! Wouldn't hesitate to come back.

Food is always fantastic. Would recommend buying multiple items off the menu though as alot of the items are smaller portions. Great for sharing. Their fried chicken is my go to every time. Only reason I've not given 5 stars for service or atmosphere is due to how busy it was (obviously successfully popular) and service was a little slow, but not to be unexpected. Atmosphere can be quite noisy with a full house.

Really mixed reviews. We booked short notice as a party of 9, we were able to get in, win! The menu presents good variety and between us I feel like we got a good mix. The great stuff... The potato skins went down a treat, the tacos were all very good, the atmosphere was brilliant. The not so great stuff... The corn fritters were not very corny and overcooked, beef skewers were overcooked, nachos came out way later than everthing else (did get complementary chips and guac), a green salad was missed (which we didn't mention because that person couldn't be bothered waiting), drinks weren't offered frequently meaning we were empty more often than not and it was STINKING hot. Would love to try again to be honest because everyone raves.
