Zen Sushi And Dumplings

I recently gave this sushi and dumpling restaurant a try. The sushi deserves a mention as it's fresh enough. Can't say it blew my mind, but it won't disappoint either. As for the dumplings, I didn't get around to trying them, so I can't really comment on that. The service, on the other hand, was pretty good. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure I had what I needed. One thing to note is that the place seems pretty quiet during lunchtime, which can be a plus if you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere. The sushi's fresh, the service is good, and the lunchtime ambiance is calm. It's worth a visit if you're in the mood for some sushi or if you're looking for a peaceful lunch spot.

Really tasty dumpling. I can't decide whether I like the steamed or fried, or chicken, pork or beef so it's a toss up on how you feel on the day. Anyhow seats are quite limited here and it's all outdoor so I'll advise you take away and find another place outside to eat as you stroll along. I also love the wasabi packets they offer here, strong and addictive!

Just launched there and after my first 5/6 pieces which were so delicious decide to go for more. Owner recommended salmon and beef. We also add one more eel. All was perfect. Fresh ingredients with top quality rice and smiling friendly personnel. They definitely become one of the top 5 sushi places for me in whole NZ and number 1 in Christchurch. This is probably the best sushi & dumpling in town! The sushi is super fresh, the dumpling is freshly cooked on order. I have been to Japan and it’s difficult to find a similar one like what I had in Japan. Zen Sushi & Dumplings are selling the real quality Japanese food. It’s a small shop with a cozy environment around. You can sit anywhere around the area. Highly recommended!

You go there for sushi and dumplings. More so for their amazing dumplings. I ordered mixed dumplings so I could try them all. I couldn't pick a favorite - all of them were amazing. The service is also good. They mixed up my order but they gave me 6 extra dumplings on the house. The place is small and has only a couple tables. It's mostly for take away. However, there is a park nearby that has benches where you can eat.

Very rare for me to give a 5 star review but this place deserves it. This is a good example of a place showing it's not just fine dining that gets the best feedback. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful, happy to explain things and well priced. Nothing gourmet of fancy just very good quality food. Fanatic food only gets you so far, you need great service to go with it, this place does great with both. Free range chicken and pork, recyclable parts used here too.
