Review Tasty Place - Chicago

Erik Harris
The food was fantastic, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. It was disappointing they didn't have dim sum available at night like some of the other places in Chinatown do, but that just means more non dim sum menu items to choose from. Everything was delicious, and the portion sizes were very good for the prices. What I found fascinating was I was the only one eating in the restaurant but there was a constant stream of takeout orders, so this definitely is a great place to get food from!

Overall we got nice food at a very good value. The youtiao was a bit harder than I would have liked. The staff are very friendly, but be aware that they speak Cantonese and not all of them speak Mandarin. Seating is limited so you may have to share a table.

I can’t express how much I love this place. I’ve been searching for and wide, mostly on Google, for a traditional Cantonese diner that served the fare. Google failed me and I stumbled upon this place that fits the bill. Often filled with old Cantonese men and women chatting, I was filled with nostalgia as I put in an order for Rice noodles, congee, and Ha Cheung, and milk tea. It was like I was back home in Hong Kong, or more recently, growing up near NYC. Food was perfection. Tea was so-so, as it comes from a tea bag. But this place has everything and is further away from the more touristy part of Chinatown so it is even more affordable. I will definitely be making a point visit this place frequently.

I love their food. It’s cheap, fills you up, and they give you a good portion of it. I usually come here during the afternoons when it’s not that busy. To be honest, this place is kinda underrated.

My favorite go-to spot in Chinatown! Price is reasonable! Food come out fast and tasty! My favorite there is fried rice noodles with beef (乾炒牛河); it’s full of “wok air”. (I cannot find a better place in nyc, which is why I miss it SO much!) and my other favorite there is eggplant with salted fish and serve with rice. Love their pastry, the BEST in Chinatown! $1 each, cannot beat that! Egg tarts, pineapple buns, and cocktails buns are the best!! For dim sum, I love their 炸倆, it’s rice noodles cover with fried dough. Freshly made to order, love it! (Ask for hoisin sauce and peanut sauce) Cash only!!

Great place to eat breakfast. Very reasonable and popular with the workers around here.
