My visit to Taza Cafe today was quite enjoyable. The food they served was really tasty, and they brought it to me quite quickly. The people working there were really nice and always had a smile on their faces. They had a lot of choices for both people who eat meat and those who don't. I tried two dishes that were recommended – the chicken with rice and the falafel with pita bread. Both dishes were very delicious and left me wanting more.
The only thing I felt was missing was options for drinks like soda or juice to go along with the food. Despite that, I had a really good time at Taza Cafe because of the yummy food, fast service, and friendly staff.

Searched for healthy food downtown. Very glad I found this. So good and great value. Chicken way better than almost all shawarma I’ve had. Grape leaves for $1 is unheard of, and they were good. Person working was very nice and hooked it up. A+

I decided to try Taza after reading the positive reviews on Google Maps. It's a simple cafe style eatery serving various styles of kebab. Not as hot and spicy as like it but tasty and reasonably priced.

We ordered Taza Cafe for our work lunch and EVERYONE commented on how good it was. So fresh and vibrant in flavor. I’m already looking forward to the next time we get it. Excellent job everyone at Taza! The chicken shawarma is incredible and the dill rice was delicious. Highly recommend Taza!

Best falafel I've had in Chicago hands down 🧆 @tazacafechicago 📍 The Loop, Chicago
Made with so much LOVEEE , this Mediterranean spot is super low key but been around for 13 years! Come in for platters , order catering for your office, group order with your office (sharing a 🔗), or even grab a quick dinner after work in the loop ❤️
All the food is made daily by Hamza (originally from Jordan). He gets in about 5-6am before the 10:30am lunch period begins.
We got the below plates, all of their popular items that comes with fluffy dill basmati rice (so good!), Creamy Hummus + pita, and a cucumber tomato Mediterranean salad:
✔️ Taza Combo (Chicken Shawarma & Gyro)
✔️ Chicken Kabob & Falafel combo
✔️ Falafel salad
Their falafels are the BEST I've had in Chicago so far.
🧆hamza makes 500-2000+ of them daily
🧆They're fried fresh so they're super crunchy
🧆 Packed with flavor with chickpeas, garlic, coriander, spices like cumin, s&p
Make sure to get the assorted baklava. They're also made fresh in Chicago by a partner . They're so crispy, not too sweet, and filled with a variety of nuts!
So dang good. They've started to extend their hours till 8pm and are closed Saturday and Sundays. Check it out!

The only spot in Chicago loop serves middle-eastern food, I like the falafel, hummus, stuffed olive leaves and chicken shawarma here. They have a very delicious mamoul 🥰

Great sandwiches and bowls packed with fresh falafel, chicken shawarma, and gyro meat! My sandwich looked so appetizing that I forgot to take a picture until I was a couple of bites in already. The food was incredible and made even better by generous and exemplary service. The owner was extremely nice and made the whole experience a great finish after a long day of walking around Chicago. I only wish I had one back home!

Pretty straight forward kebab place. All food is made fresh and portion is nice. Food is not over seasoned and the platters are pretty filling. Comfortable seating and decorated motif. Falafel were made to order. Hummus was smooth as silk and I like they used sumac spice on top of the food which gave a nice accent of flavors. All food was delicious and sauces were unique and plentiful! Deserts were really good and made with real butter! Great place to pick up great food at a good price!

Taza is one of the best places for falafel in the loop. They are crisp and and moist with excellent flavor. Also, the charbroiled chicken and hummus is perfect. Go here if you want a cheap and fresh meal.

The food is here is always great. Very consistent and there are a lot of options for all kinds of eaters. The combos are great and give you a bit of everything. At most places, one of the hummus or falaffel or schwarma or gyro may not be as good as everything else, but that is not the case at Taza. Everything that I’ve had is great, from the proteins to the sauces to the hummus to the sides. I’m here usually more than once a week. The staff are always friendly, and the food is fresh and filling, with generous portions. I recommend the Chefs Special Pita or the Taza Combo number 3 with your choice of sauces. Prices are fair for what you’re getting, and I recommend trying the Baklava as well. Dont sleep on the fries either (which most people don’t order but are surprisingly very good). My go to spot downtown, highly recommend.

Great lunch spot! I always have the chicken falafel combo with rice, salad, pita and hummus, I like to pair it with tahini and hot sauce, I love the flavors of everything and I find it filling and healthy for a work lunch spot. Staff is friendly.

I went here today and the food is amazing. Got the Chicken Shawarma plate and the chicken/basmati rice was very flavorful and well seasoned. The hummus it comes with is very good as well, and I’m normally not a falafel girl but they gave me one for free it and was really good! They have indoor and outdoor dining and service was fast so you can definitely visit on your lunch break like I did! Overall 10/10 try this place :)

I had to meet with a group late one evening and wanted to get some dinner. After looking at the restaurants in the area, i found Taza Cafe was open late in the evening and serves decent middle eastern food. The place is easy to miss as it is surrounded by other restaurants and eateries.
The shawarma is ok though the chicken tasted a bit bland even with the hot sauce. They use a pita pocket for sandwiches and it gets messy after a couple of bites. The fillings are simply too much and tend to burst out of the pocket from top and bottom. Be prepared with a few more paper napkins to mop up and remember to keep your sandwich and your mouth over the plate.
The gent behind the counter is nice and friendly and was busy with many call in orders from apps.

We order Taza for catering often at the merchandise mart down the street... Always delicious, well packaged and setup and excellent mix of food for large groups. Highly recommend!

Frankly, wasn't planning on going here today, but what we were in the mood for was closed for Columbus Day. Came in, we bought a shawarma sandwich and a gyro. Food was of appropriately good quality for a hole in the wall joint, well flavored, appropriately priced, and served quickly and with a positive attitude. If I were a local, I'd probably be back again.
