Was told that Coke has different sizes and was non-refillable. It's a fancy restaurant but the coke is in a plastic cup. The pico de gallo is perfect (salsa fresca with onions, garlic and cilantro!) Flautas were tasty but a little too fried, very crispy. They came with guacamole and sour cream! Steak tacos were a little dry.

I must say, the soup and tacos I had here were simply the best! However, I do have to agree with another reviewer regarding our waitress - she wasn't the friendliest. Luckily, the bus lady was an absolute sweetheart and saved the day. Despite the service hiccup, we still left a generous tip for them both. The food here is definitely worth a visit!

The best of the best. I'm been going here since 1994. Just Came back for a short weekend vacation. First restaurant we need to stop by is here😀 ahhh the burrito ,chips and salsa, tacos and soupas are the best. Yum 😋. Love it!!! Update 8.18.2023. My girlfriends and family' met here for dinner. We had a blast.

This place was on point. it did take our server a while to come to the table. but he was very polite, friendly and helpful. Our margaritas were very good and the food was excellent. Came put hot, very fresh and just like we ordered it!! as a matter of face let me give the entire staff a thank you because all of them were moving!! anything we asked for they brought it quickly and I never ran out of water!! thank you for that!! Me and my mom definitely enjoyed and can't wait to go back!!!

By far our favorite Mexican Restaurant in Chicago. It never disappoints. The staff are courteous and efficient. Our server Jennifer was excellent. They accommodated 6 of us including 2 little children. Their Covid precautions are great. The place is very clean and large enough to accommodate parties. And the food is absolutely the best. And man those Margaritas are the best!!!

This is our go-to for authentic Mexican food. We normally dine outdoors since we have a dog. Inside is nice as well. Staff is friendly most of the time. Food is consistently good, especially the fish tacos! We've tried many other places but nothing compares to Garcia's tacos. And last but not least, they have excellent margaritas. One will definitely make you "happier", and two is enough for the nite!

Always a great time here at Garcia's. Staff is super friendly and attentive to detail. Ordered Chicago's Best Burrito and by far one of the top dishes on the menu. The al pastor here is what took the dish to the next level. Highly recommend trying this massive burrito. Also if you are looking for a margarita, try their pitchers. Best "bang for your buck" and they are not overly sweet. You can tell they have perfected their homemade recipe. If you are in the area and looking for a solid Mexican restaurant this is the go-to must stop!

I’ve been a returning customer to this location for years (5+). This is a fun family space, I’ve thrown parties here for over 10+ and they’ve been accommodating.
The tampiquena is good, I feel the portions have gotten smaller over the years but still flavorful.
The enchiladas both red and green are my staples here and I rarely veer from it. Chicken or steak are both delicious.
The margaritas are awesome here. By the pitcher or glass, I’ve tried them all. A great time for a quick bite and drinks or if you come for drinks afterwards. Frozen are great but I recommend on the rocks for a less filling effect. Coconut, Mango, Passionfruit and Pama are the top ranking.
Some of these servers have been here for years and remember you, which makes for great connection and rapport.
Either way, you’ll enjoy your food and time here!

Went to try out this establishment based on a recommendation..... I will not be returning.... I ordered the carne asada burrito... It had good flavor, but when I tell you that thing was so damn dry!!! I was charged $1.50 for sour cream which only helped marginally... My friend had the steak tacos....again dry. Charged us $2.50 for like 6 slices. We had to ask for napkins and silverware.... At the end of the meal, I received the check, put my money in the little black book and handed it to the waiter Max... Upon his return, Max informs me that he did not charge me for my meal because The cashier was busy, but he did change out my bill. I asked him if he was serious, and he repeated "Becsusecthe cashier is busy, I did not charge you, I just changed your bill". At this point I told my friend well damn let's go then...left a tip and proceeded to leave. We were half way down the street when Max runs up behind us saying we didn't pay..... What?! You said you didn't charge us!! He then stated that he didn't want to get in trouble or get me in trouble....Nah son, this was your doing.... I went back and forth with him for a while and then handed him the money. I started to walk away, but decided to speak with a manager. Went back in and asked one of the waiters to go get the manager. He went and spoke to a woman who nodded her head as she was looking at me. I waited for 15 minutes before another waiter with no name tag came over claiming to be the manager(side eye) I explained the situation and asked for my money back... He told me I had to call the owner as he wasn't authorized to do that....So this means to me that you are not the manager and I just wasted 30 minutes of my day talking to you.... And to top it off Max kept my change!!! I will be contacting the owner in the morning....The drinks were on point though...

The service was excellent. The food was better then any Mexican I have ever had. The margaritas were worth every dime we paid for it. I recommend this place to everyone who wants to try authentic Mexican food.

The only reason they don’t get a 1 star is because they are the only Mexican restaurant in the square. You get large portions but the quality is barely par. If you dare to make the hostess mad, they’ll delete you off the waitlist (not like they actually use it). Lower your expectations and standards. There are far better joint to get a margarita on a patio at. This should be a last resort. Enjoy!

The food was great. I normally don't eat the beans on the plate but even those were good. And the mango margaritas knocked you down. The only reason it didn't get a 5 star was because the wait was longer than I'd like and our waitress must of been new(at least I hope she was)

I've been going to Garcia's Mexican restaurant since day one! I remember the first day they opened up the restaurant I whent went in and got a burrito. Well needless to say I was hooked and I've been ever since. Possibly like 27 years ago. I'm Puerto Rican and I've tried many different Mexican restaurants but this one is the best and my favorite. The steak is out of this world! I usually drive an hour just to eat there! It's family owned and they are awesome! Please keep up the great job don't change anything what so ever!

Staff is not the best, food is great, but have minor complaints. I’ve been going here since forever and could definitely tell you that they changed. Food portions and margarita portions have gotten smaller yet the price is still the same, maybe even more. Also the salsa consistency is very watery in both their pico de gallo and ranchero salsas.
Bottom line, better customer service is needed and stop changing things that don’t need changing.

I have been coming to Garcia's forever. It has always been great. Of course on Friday and Saturday night's you have to wait but it is worth it. Food and drinks are always good and a lot of food for a fair price.

The service was horrible but the drink was great! We were seated and waited almost 20 minutes to place an order, after watching a female server walk past the table at least 5 times without giving us a second notice. To add insult to injury she goes to a standing area and proceeds to have side bar conversation with coworkers and then leaned on the counter and rested, I noticed another table had the same problem which lead him to get up and approach the counter for assistance. If I did return I would only go for drinks.

Wednesday night October 11th 2017 and the wait staff was sub par, the food probably from Sysco and an overall paid too much for low quality tequila. Taco Bell and Binnys would be the same and cheaper.
