Everytime I'm in the city.....I have to go to Roma's! The B.E.S.T. beef in the city!!! I love Roma's Italian Beef & Sausage‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️. This time I also got the breaded steak sandwich and their new Italian beef empandadas. All delicious‼️. I forgot to order sweet peppers on my beef, so I added some from the steak sandwich. Fabulous!! Their beef is perfectly sliced & the juice is so flavorful & a bit spicy. ALL made in house!! I especially love the flavor of the juice....so many spices & not piles of salt. DELICIOUS 😋😋😋😋😋.
I got some to take home, too! So I will be enjoying this delicious beef today 😉.
This is a great spot & the owner Fred is a great guy. Sadly, he has a bad situation going with his MS & uses a wheelchair a times. Nevertheless....he and his wife Anna, are there every day! Please support this small business and this family! The food is amazing & they are great people ❤️

This is the best beef sandwich in town to me, it's just very far down the blue line to get to it. Ask for extra meat if you can on your sandwich. Fantastic value.

The owner great personality. The Italian beef was really good. I'd put this up against Portillos anytime. First time there will definitely visit again if in the area. Possibly make a trip there when the craving hits.

Loved the spicy Italian sausage and big piece, but almost seemed a little caramelized sweetness which was odd. Overall still good. Maybe they sit with the sweet peppers.

The Italian beef sandwich was great. I thought it was a bit expensive for the size, though. I would skip the Italian ice next time because it was too chunky for my liking. Definitely a great neighborhood joint for Italian beef.

Ordered Italian beef catering. The service was very good to order and the beef was so tender and juicy. Bread was fresh and they provided us with peppers. Would definitely cater here again!

Was near Roma's and haven't stopped by in a long time, wanted a good Italian beef, say no more. Definitely a great Chicago Neighborhood Vibe...One of Owner's was taking orders...Asked what I was in the mood for, "I said, a million bucks!" He said " Me too!"
We laughed & dreamed...ordered the 6" Italian Beef with Sweet Peppers. Never mentioned whether I wanted dry or baptized, but gave me a perfect sandwich. I could handle the bun without worrying it would fall apart, not that I don't mind, but would need additional napkins. Certainly hit the spot, looking forward to trying their pizza next time...Looked delicious. "El Stool Presidente" would give it an 8.1, I'm sure! Cheers & Mangia!

I was between 3 and 4 on the food, but settled on 4 because at the end of the day, it was comfort food, and it did the job. While I couldn't down the fries, the polish was on point, and the fries didn't go to waste as they were devoured by my dining companion. I'm not an Italian beef fan, but the spicy dip was really good, and the Italian beef empanada had a really good party. The tamale is going to be more classic American tamal, which I also like, but if you're looking for more authentic Mexican tamales, I'd pass on these. Kind friendly staff, and comfortable hole in the wall feel. Avoid if you're looking for fine dining, but if you can appreciate hole‐in‐the‐wall Chicago cuisine, you should be able to appreciate this place.

Our Italian beef sandwiches were everything we expected, and then some with in-house hot Gardiner and home cut fries took them to the next level for someone like us who can't get them where we live!

I love Italian Beefs. I have tried a LOT of places. I drive for around Chicagoland for work so am able to try a lot of different places. I got the Beef dipped with mozzarella, side of giardinara, side of marinara and fries. The beef is one of the best I ever had, the fries are fresh cut but, unlike most places, they are not soggy. They are thin and crispy. Probably one of the best fries I've had again. The marinara sauce is also amazing! I did not care for the giardinara because it has olives, but if you like olives then you will like it. I agree with the other review I read, the sandwich could use more beef. The owner is really nice. I'll probably try the meatball sandwich next time since the marinara is soooo good. Is it the best beef in Chicago? That's for you to decide. I'll be a repeat customer for sure!

Meh used to be LOTS better. I got half filled bag of fries and was not told that using a credit card would cost me 4.4% Admin fee. Honestly I wish I could give this place a 3.5. Fries are No longer hand cut as you can see in my pics but are shoestring fries. Sadly It's no longer the awesome place that I remember.

I stopped here on my way out to O'Hare. As a first-time visitor to Chicago, I had read about the fabled italian beef but I didn't get a chance to try it until my very last day.
I'll be honest, I picked this place just because it was pretty close to the blue line and it had great reviews. I was not prepared for how friendly and excited the staff would be to share their food with me. They had so much pride not just for the food but also for the multicultural history of Chicago. And the food was ridiculously good! I ended up getting a hotdog as well for comparison to the other one I tried and they killed it with that too.
I refuse to come back to Chicago without eating here again. Please come try their food!

Roma's is the best place no lie sometimes I get to sandwiches I don't need him out at 1 but I just had one I posted a picture of what's left of it because I'm going back later for another one that place gets packed the tangles out the door and there's tables but I can walk there I drive there sometime today I just drove there and I was half my sandwich not even less than that but I'm going to get another one and don't judge me but it's great and I love the service but if you have an attitude you won't see me again they're so friendly they're so nice and I'm serious and I'm not related to them but and there's their tables outside too but it's so humid I am when I when this came on you know like I was just there so it says you know Google this that and also here I am and then I only have a little bit of my sandwich I posted a piece of the picture of the sandwich but yeah it's the best take care everyone Niki Roma's because there is the beef

Growing up my grandfather used to take me to Margie's on Cicero for a beef back in the days- I loved it.... Then one day my uncle David introduced me to Roma's... And I never looked back, (sorry abuelo!) plus it's nice when the owner genuinely remembers you... This is Chicago eats at its finest!!!

I was told this was the best in Chicago. I was not disappointed at all. The beef, tender and tasty! The sausage, just the right amount of spicy. I got the combo, and either could stand alone on its own merits. Even their homemade giardinera, made for taste, not shock value was just awesome.
I was lucky enough to meet Fred, the owner, and his enthusiasm shows in the quality of the food. I can't wait to come back for more.

I'm telling you, I grew up on Roma's for 34 years in Chicago. I have since moved away but each time I'm back in Chicago the 1st thing I want to do it go get a beef sandwich here. Absolutely the best there is. I have never been disappointed. Oh, and don't forget those mouth watering fries. Can't beat em'. This is and always will be my go to place. If you hang with me your going to end up at Roma's. Just love the place.

I live in Toronto Canada and have been going to Chicago for over 57 years, my uncle started taking me to Roma's as a kid as he new the owner Ron and I still go there to this day..the first place we stop when we get into Chicago is Roma's the best beef in the city...It was sad to see Ron sell the business but I know it's in good hands as I have met the new owner.. you won't be disappointed.

There are only two places I go to and this is one of them. I've never had a bad beef from this place. I we there recently and had the atomic beef and it was delicious.
