Pleasing to the eye and taste buds, the Mayan mocha! I personally like the taste of black coffee also, so I ordered LIGHT syrup. Made it perfect. 😋

The coffee is not that strong, but I guess it’s their signature. I ordered a large mocha, overall taste is good. The shop has a good vibe, decoration, and stunning art painting. A lot of outdoor and indoor seats. Not sure if they have free wifi.

I'm a fan of Dark Matter Coffee and have been for years. I no longer live in Chicago but always look for an excuse to visit when I'm in town. The cafe vibe is always fun, there is seating inside and out at this location, and there is plenty of fun merch available. Most importantly - the coffee is really good! Almond & oat milk are available for beverages.

Can never go wrong with a Mayan Mocha made with love by some of the best baristas on the block!

An interesting coffee shop. Ambiance and decor is appealing with the disco balls and such. Espresso is really great with how sweet and creamy it was. I paid a little over $3 for the donut and espresso which is so worth it. Service is top notch! A definite place to visit in Chicago!

Quirky, quitchy and cool... everything a Coffee Lounge should be. Dark Matter Coffee hits the spot with the various fresh brewed and breakfast items. WiFi is spot on, great place to lounge, work and converse. The outdoor patio is the place to soak in the sun and get your caffeine fix. Did I mention the staff is outrageously awesome!!!???

Great people but just not my cup o' joe. If you like brighter more acidic notes, this is the coffee for you. Still a great place and people would recommend anyone to give it a shot.

This place is pretty cool. The decor is really nice, hipster type place, the coffee is good and the donut we had was amazing (glazed with chocolate glaze), one of the best donuts I've ever had. There is inside and outside seating and it is dog friendly. The only downside, and this is a reoccurring comment from my trip to Chicago, the service was a little slow for me but I work in NYC so I'm used to things moving at a faster pace.

Loved this spot! The Agave Latte was delicious, and the espresso was flavorful and strong. Definitely a place I would visit frequently if I was a local!

Wow Oh. My. WOW. Mayan Mocha. Absolutely delicious!!! The vibes and energy of the place is warming and welcoming, personally I enjoy the artsy feel. I get a "Fear the Loathing", vibe from some of the art work. They have a beautiful outside seating area too. The coffee has a beautiful aroma, taste, and me-oh-mighty-Boldness. The staff was as helpful as can be considering how busy it was around 9. They have dairy alternatives too; Almond or Soy¿

Always love at the Star Lounge! There are a plethora of coffee roasters and coffee shops in Chicago, but Dark Matter Coffee is by far my favorite. They have a few locations, all unique in their own special quirky way, but Star Lounge is my favorite. Always the best vibe going on in there! Great music, super awesome staff and plenty of seating, including great outdoor patio out back. My 8 and 11 year old often tag along with me and I never get evil eye-rolls from staff or patrons! They are my go-to, year round and they also have the best hours of operation!

I go here regularly for my morning coffee and realized I have never written the wonderful review the staff deserves! They are friendly and welcoming at all hours (even before sunrise!). The service is excellent. Love this place!

Coffee is mostly dark roasted, and their special cinnamon coffee is great! The environment is very comfortable, except that the first floor bathroom is kinda smelly due to a too small fan.

The coffee was absolutely amazing and staff so fun!! At a time when most Chicagoans had been scorned by winter’s second coming and felt annoyed to have to help anyone, these guys were happy and silly and smiling! Their coffee is an obsession (and I am totally coffee picky!) of mine, so to have service that goes with it 👌🏽

I stopped with 4 friends and had a great time. Good coffee, amazing art, all around great space. Friendly staff. They are hosting an incredible exhibit of photos from a Japanese internment camp during WW2. Such a sad event in our history. Could it happen again? Immigrants and refugees are being.held without due process. Is this what we stand for today?

First time in Chicago, drove by and really needed coffee so we stopped in. The people are extremely friendly and the coffee is great. Ordered the wake and bake, I'm glad the guy suggested this. Tastes amazing

Used to love and tell everyone about this lounge. Today I drive a half hour from Schamuburg and get here only to have the slowest wi-if connection on the planet. Sure there are a lot of people but that is not an excuse for poor speed because if you have Comcast (which they do) you should not be having a 56k modem speed even if you do have 20 people even streaming video. Comcast gives you at least 20mbps and my guess is that star lounge probably has a 50mbps since Comcast speeds are through the roof now at cheap pricing. So I rely on the net to work like most people. I died what is the point of me even being here if I have to wait literally a minute for a page to load (and I will take a video of this BS to prove it). First time I go up to complain about it (after verifying with 2 other customers that told me it's also painfully slow for them) the guy tells me it's my PC. I am not a ding idiot and that is a shit response to get out of checking it OR just tell me your wifi sucks so I can stopes seeing and leave! But don't tell a Sr. Software Engineer it is my PC. I don't know how many times shops have these issues and they don't care. The wifi is just as much important to your customers who come to your business to work and drink your coffee and you basically don't give a shit like every other coffee shop. This is 2015, not 1999 anymore. Get your stuff fixed the is unacceptable. Face it part of your business is the "experience" and ability for your customers to come in and enjoy the ecosystem you have built for them. Otherwise get rid of the tables, because there is no point for this to be a "lounge". Stop making excuses and get a better router, connection, whatever the hell you have to do..make it a priority do not tell your customers they just have to "deal with it". Or tell them it is their problem. Very unprofessional business. Again used to live star lounge in the past. Been a while some I have gone here only to find out I just wasted a half hour to get here to learn I can't work from my laptop.

Love it, back patio is great in the summer, as long as you are cool with dogs.

I love Star Lounge despite not drinking coffee! Their hibiscus/ cayenne tea beverage is Amazing. PLEASE BRING IT BACK! I would love to order it year round! Staff is rad, space is cool. <3
