Review Le Sud Mediterranean Kitchen - Chicago

I just hosted my baby shower at Le Sud and was beyond impressed with the menu, service, and atmosphere at this restaurant. Highly recommend working with them for private events - the Le Sud team even recommended a fantastic florist and helped to set up decorations / make hosting my shower such a seamless process. All of our shower guests raved about the food and said it was 10/10 (I’d have to agree). Thank you so much, Le Sud!

Its our second time in that restaurant, and we loved it both times. The ambiance is literally like you are in further France neighborhood, the staff is friendly and attentive. Food is exceptional, blend of flavors in dishes is very well balanced and unique. They carry big selection of french wines and cordials and their mixed drinks are outstanding, I just love that place, coming again for sure. Everything was just perfect, I got the mussels and the elderflower gin cocktail, it was one time.

A lovely gem! So far I've only come for brunch but will be back for dinner service soon. Great atmosphere and very friendly host and service. The fresh squeezed lemonade is delicious and not overly sweet aka perfection. Rose cocktail amazing delicious. Croquet Madam- massive and delicious and and gooey cheesy heaven.

Amazing! Food and service! Happy Hour on a Saturday. Incredible! The dishes as you can see in the pictures were delicious and well prepared. Our server was: Ned A. He was most friendly and offered some recommended dishes. Excellent server! Large drink list and options. Ambiance was warm, calming and welcoming! Outdoor seating is also available. Street parking.

Had a wonderful graduation party in the upstairs of Le Sud. This private dining area was perfect for our group of 20. The attention to detail in every aspect of the dining experience was truly commendable. Our server Salomon was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also offered insightful recommendations, enhancing our overall enjoyment. The pacing of the courses was perfect, allowing us to enjoy each dish and engage in conversation without feeling rushed. The owner Sandy and her staff delivered a top-notch dinging experience from the moment we entered to the moment we left. The food, wine, service, and ambience are what one desires for a lovely night out. Bravo to Le Sud!

Brandon did a nice job! Filet Mingone, pork chop, duck, burger, frites, French onion soup, carrots, mango cheesecake, lemon crème brûlée, chocolate lava cake - all were excellent!!!! Drinks were wonderful! This is a don’t miss restaurant.

Had a bit of everything on the menu. Quinoa salad was amazing, steak was cooked to perfection dessert did not disappoint! Drinks were delicious. Highly recommend the 21 flamingos if you like mezcal. It was a bit noisy and very busy, tables are pretty close together so keep that in mind. Will def be back during the warmer months to enjoy the roof top patio 😊

Came for dinner for one. The staff was friendly. The restaurant has a beautiful decor and food has a theme. It seemed like everything was very lemony which I very much enjoyed. Great drinks and don't forget to ask for the dessert menu! There are some seasonal flavors available!

We have been to Le Sud many times before the pandemic, supported them through it, and went last night for the first time in a while. We sat on the second level for the first time which is very nice - a little brighter than the first floor (and less noisy). Our server was Solomon and he handled the whole second level himself (no impact to our service). He was terrific. We had the wolf fish, mussels, duck confit, and the gnocchi with shrimp. The winner? The GNOCCHI! This was pan fried and the gnocchi was a little crispy. It was delicious. Prior to dinner we had an order of the lamb lollipops and truffle burrata with heirloom tomatoes. They have a pretty impressive wine list. We ended with some high-end sipping tequila. It was a fantastic dinner. I hope they’re able to get the upstairs rooftop area open soon. Word is they’re battling one person in the next building. Too bad.

Overall: A pricey, but delicious, southern France experience. The good: Atomsphere is great, with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Well-varied menu with a lot of options to choose from, including drinks (which were also fantastic). The complimentary bread is delicious and tastes like it's from France, but we wish we had more of it for a larger table. The salmon was cooked to perfection and the octopus was delicious as well. Service was friendly and attentive. The not-so-good: The prices climb quickly, especially given that they are smaller dishes. Wish we had more of the complimentary bread for our larger table and the croqeuettes were unfortunately forgettable. Food: 8/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Service: 8/10

We enjoyed our dinner but not particularly had a magical first impression. Grilled Octopus and Duck entree were pretty tasty. Side dishes quinoa and veggies were disappointing and somewhat tasteless. The service was a mediocre. It sounds like the place supposed to be a fusion of French coastal and Spanish cuisine. I’d recommend to give it a chance at least once.

Had a great anniversary dinner here. Very nice staff and interior. Food was excellent overall but I wasn't a huge fan of the French onion soup. For the price it could've been slightly better. Drinks were strong and interesting. Might not be for everyone but I liked mine.

We recently visited this restaurant and absolutely loved it! They have a great patio with relaxing atmosphere! Also, they have gluten free options. For example, my scallops were prepared with butter instead of flour, the cheese and speck americano is gluten free if you remove the baguette. The fish with sauce romesco was also gluten free. Furthermore, the Spanish octopus with olives was gluten free and very delicious. Additionally, the desserts were full of flavor and we enjoyed them. We would definitely come back!

Great place to celebrate my birthday with family! Sat on the patio and the menu had something for everyone. I loved the halibut and the mussels were some of the best I’ve ever had! Wonderful service as well, can’t wait for an excuse to go back!
