This place is phenomenal. It is easily my favorite ramen shop in all of Chicago and it's heavily carried by the broth. We tried their Hell Ramen, the Kuro Buta, and the Shio Ramen with turkey and all of them had phenomenal broths. Not too salty, not undersalty, just right. The noodles were amazingly satisfying to eat and the meats were very tender. Would be coming back here - the service was friendly and fast and the atmosphere is a little cramped but it is cozy.

Good Ramen. I ordered hell Ramen level 4 was so good. It's really spicy like I want. The soup is similar to Mala soup (spicy Chinese hotpot soup) more lighter but still spicy. On top with ground pork and crispy pork skin that I commonly found in Thai boat noodles.

🍜🌟 A Culinary Delight at Strings 2 Ramen in Chicago! 🌟🍜 I recently dinned at Strings 2 Ramen in Chicago, it was an absolute delight for my taste buds! From the moment I walked in, the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel right at home. But it was the delectable flavors and attention to detail that truly stole the show. One of the standout dishes that I simply have to rave about is their Hell Sauce. As a spice enthusiast, I'm always on the lookout for something that sets my taste buds on fire, and this sauce did not disappoint! The perfect balance of heat and flavor, it added a tantalizing kick to my ramen that took the dish to a whole new level. If you're a fan of spicy food, don't miss out on trying this fiery masterpiece! Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the Shoyu Vegetable Ramen. As a vegetarian, I appreciate when a restaurant offers delicious and satisfying options for non-meat eaters, and Strings 2 Ramen hit the mark with this dish. The broth was rich and flavorful, with the distinct umami taste of soy sauce shining through. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the medley of fresh vegetables added a delightful crunch and vibrant colors to the bowl. Each spoonful was a symphony of flavors that left me craving more. Aside from the fantastic food, the service at Strings 2 Ramen was exceptional. The staff members were attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about their craft. They took the time to explain the different menu options and made helpful recommendations based on individual preferences. Their dedication to ensuring a memorable dining experience truly stood out, and it's evident that they take great pride in their establishment. The restaurant itself had a cozy and welcoming ambiance. The minimalist yet stylish decor created a relaxed and comfortable setting, perfect for enjoying a satisfying bowl of ramen. Whether you're dining alone or with a group of friends, Strings 2 Ramen offers a warm and inviting space that enhances the overall experience. In conclusion, Strings 2 Ramen in Chicago is a hidden gem that deserves all the accolades it receives. The Hell Sauce and Shoyu Vegetable Ramen are both standout dishes that showcase the culinary expertise of the chefs. Coupled with exceptional service and a charming atmosphere, this restaurant truly exceeded my expectations. If you're a ramen lover or simply someone in search of a fantastic dining experience, don't miss the opportunity to visit Strings 2 Ramen. It's an experience that will leave you craving more!

One of the best Ramen in Chicago! Met a guy, was told to eat here. It’s 10pm on Friday! I came, sat down, ordered, the food came super quick. All was good. I’d repeat

Still one of the best Ramen spot in Chinatown. The broth is so flavorful and creamy from the pork stock. Not watered down. Ordered the Tonkotsu ramen with pork belly and extra side of noodles. Pork belly was very amazing with the perfect amount of fat. Ramen noodles had perfect texture and taste.

Busy, but the wait time is short! I've been here recurring and I'm sure that every time, usually in the evenings, this place is busy. But the wait time is anywhere from 5-10 minutes. Their ramen is so good! One of my favorites in Chicago! I tried their spicy, and as a Mexican who eats Chile, I couldn't handle it, so beware.

Great Ramen joint worthy of competing with other Chicago places! I got the Tsukemen, which I believe is not their specialty, but quite good by American standards of ramen shops. Price was also great. I’d like to visit again and get their classic ramen to see if it’s worthy of being a 5/5

My love affair with ramen began around 2013 at Strings, initiated by a simple bowl of Tonkastu with kuro buta belly, an experience only comparable to my first dance with uni, my most favorite food. Ramen is the most basic of foods, but if you are willing, it almost takes you away, perhaps that is why it is considered a working class meal because for a brief moment in time, between the slurps n splashes of gelatinous broth, silky noodles, and awakening chili oil, nothing matters. After slurping my first ramen noodles and siphoning the broth, I looked up at my cousin and said, I have never had soup before today, a statement which still rings true. Since then, I have been lucky enough to slurp delicious bowls in many amazing places around the USA, only one place compares to Strings, I love Strings. Thank you to all of the chefs and staff who create and make this experience possible. Cheers:)

Level 2 hell Ramen is spicy but not crazy. I do like spice, but next time I'll get the tonkatsu. The hell Ramen seems spicy just for the sake of spice. Good portion. Cozy Rameny atmosphere.

Just went here for lunch and I love their ramen so much. Hell ramen level 1 is still too spicy for me but I ate it all because the taste was so great. You will get a huge pitcher of water for free as well

Came here first time to try out their Hell Ramen because a friend of mine told me if I like spicy this is the ramen to get. I got the level 3 and from someone who is attune to spicy food because of my Thai pallet, level 3 just hits the spot. But I could have easily done level 4 as well so next time I will be going for level 4 for sure. As for the broth the clams and the ground pork pairs well with its umami seafoody broth with a hit of sourness from the pickled veggies. The pork rinds with the fresh woodear mushroom and sprouts adds an extra crunch to the ramen. Would come back to try their other flavor for sure.

This is my go to Ramen spot. The ramen here just hits the spot. I love their Tonkotsu Ramen. Their broth is full of Umami flavor. The servers are super attentive. You wont wait longer than 15 min for your food to be served. Also, for those who haven't been to this location just know the place is small. Perfect for a group of 4 or smaller.

Quick and fast service for some very delicious and tasty ramen. The service was great and waiter was very attentive. The decor was nice but if you like your space, might want to take this to go. It's pretty crammed and really tight seating but i didn't mind it. The only disturbing thing was the timer they have in the kitchen going off every couple minutes.

So good! Best Ramen I have ever had!

My favorite part of traveling to a big city is the fact that they have so many culinary options! My home in Central KY doesn't have any authentic ramen shops. This tiny shop was just what I imagine you would find walking down an alley in Tokyo. The menu had several options to choose from and everything sounded delicious. The service was efficient and though it was a tight space, there was room to eat without sitting on top of your neighbor. Three of us ate for under $50, all with water to drink. The large portions of steaming ramen were perfect for lunch on a crisp, fall day.

The ramen was OK. I should have ordered the Miso Ramen, rather than the Tonkatsu. Maybe next time... The dumplings were really good though!

Great food a bit pricey but it’s not a place I would go to all the time. Great flavor can’t wait to try the other options. Good for date night. Kind knowledgeable waiters/waitresses.

I love this place, I go to the va hospital from the south side 2 times a month and I always stop! The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. Big shout out from the outskirts of Chicago on the way south side!

best damn ramen I have had all my life ....will def go back .... went with 7 people we all tried eachothers food and each dish was AMAZEBALLS!! will be back for sure ... HELL RAMEN level 2 will be my next dish

I rated it a 3 due to the steep prices. $14 for the Loin Miso and only 2 thin discs of meat in the whole bowl of soup. I enjoyed the food, but in no way is the food worth the price! I won't make an effort to return, but If I was in the area I would gladly eat there again. So.... Good Food but overpriced!

First time there and love the flavor!! But my ramen with turkey broth was not as hot (temperature wise) as I'd like for my noodle. I was expecting a piping hot ramen broth but mine was rather warm. My husband had Yakisoba with spicy crab and he liked it. My sons ordered veggie ramen with tofu and ramen with duck meat, they both loved the flavor. Definitely will go back but will request the ramen broth is hot next time.

By far the best ramen in chicago. No other ramen place has ever even come close to their noodles. The service is AMAZING, the overall atmosphere is the best. The hells ramen level 2 is amazing and just the right amount of spicy .

Amazing! First Ramen experience. Wanted spicy. The waiter thankfully recommended the level 2 (I would have gone for 3). It was PERFECT! My wife had the duck and pork belly. Also delicious! Can’t wait to come back!
