Review Emperor's Choice - Chicago

We've come here a few times in the past for takeout and dining in. Good food and drinks. Large variety of options, flavors are delicious and authentic, and large portions. Service is friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Would recommend. 👌🏽 👍🏽

I always add an order of the crispy/fried green beans. And I usually keep it simple (fried rice, Singapore noodle, ect) but after seeing pictures in other reviews, I might try something new next time! The flavors are always clean & robust. The food comes out lightening fast. The servers are nice and attentive. Water glasses always refreshed. Plates quickly cleared for more space. Overall a really good experience.

Our experience here was phenomenal - we were promptly seated and waiters were always available. We tried their salt and pepper chicken, sweet and sour pork, and their shitake mushroom with peapod sprout. The chicken was alright and was seasoned well, the sweet and sour pork had too much sauce to it. However, the real star of the show was the mushroom and peapod sprout. This is easily one of the best Chinese vegetable dish we've had in a long time - the sprout and mushroom was cooked perfectly and the sauce was great without over using oil. The sprout had a satisfying texture to it and the mushroom had all the flavor of the sauce when you bite into it. This is honestly as good if not better than how my mom does it, and she's an amazing cook that runs her own restaurant. Absolute 10/10, this one dish alone tells me that this restaurant puts attention and care on specific dishes. Will come back to try more. Update: We came back and tried a few other dishes, like the Honey walnut Shrimp, their Sichuan spicy chicken, their Cantonese style fried noodle dish, and their duck. Duck was decent, shrimp and chicken was underwhelming. Their Cantonese fried noodles were AMAZING however. Its staggering how the quality of their dishes vary so much, its like there are different cooks in the kitchen. The noodle was nice and crispy and the stir fry on it was cooked very well and was sauced very appropriately. tldr try the peapod sprout and mushroom dish as well as their Cantonese fried noodle dishes.

Egg Rolls, Crab Rangoons, Seame Chicken, Combination Egg foo Young, is sooo delicious 👍🏻 The food comes out VERY HOT when served to you... however, the atmosphere is, ehhh, it gets really cramped in the restaurant, and the tables are so close together you can practically Touch shoulders with the other people next to you but don't let the space stop you from trying their food it's great for being right in Chinatown👌 Just letting yall know:)

This is, what I consider, a classic Chinese diner: a little bit crowded and noisy with lots of food dishes continuously trucking around the restaurant. The place has been there for generations serving excellent Cantonese fare. They have a full bar service for your beverage service, and make every effort to keep water glasses and teapots full. I enjoyed Sweet and Sour Chicken, which was crispy- as was the Sessame Chicken. Another in our group had Walnut Shrimp that had a beautiful presentation. Pepper sauce beef was amazing as well. Recommended!!

Excellent crab rangoon‘s and sweet-and-sour chicken. The restaurant was somewhat unkempt, but overall clean. Service was direct and efficient with no frills of courtesies.

Excellent service and food. Also loved the big lazy Susan on the table for family style.

Authentic Chinese food in chinatown. Loved the exterior so we went in to order. Standard Chinese food but with good ingredients and flavors. I had the kimchi fried rice with shrimp. Easily a 9/10. I just wanted more shrimp because I'm greedy lol. Service was good; waitress was attentive but she did forget to take our drink orders so we just had water the entire meal. Overall, loved it. Would go back

I had a little bit of time so I stopped in and had a nice dinner. The hosts, waiters, waitresses were friendly,, informative of the menu and even suggested a few entrees which I will try next time I visit. The food was fresh hot and served in a timely manner. My favorite dish was the Egg Drop soup. This restaurant is reasonably priced. I was satisfied I stopped in.
