This place was recommended by our guide Ben for the best Chicago dogs, Downtown Dogs did not disappoint. We took them next door to the bar and enjoyed with a beer at the patio table.
nice small place that has now opened up outside seating. Great food at a great price
Great option for a tasty, all-beef, hot dog at an affordable price, especially when you're on the go. If hot dogs aren't your thing, the chicken sandwich is a great option as well. Friendly service. No place to sit down, but there's a small stand-up counter where you can eat inside.
Great staff friendly and smily and fast service
If you looking for burger joint this is not the one from my experience, I ordered the back yard single burger.
it seems to be they good at there hot dogs and they known for it,
I love the fact they got fresh fries,
won’t come back for burgers
but yes to fries
And I will try hot dogs next time

What can I say.. the staff here is what makes the place! Super friendly and the food is everything you could ask for in a hotdog/burger place. Clean, quality and at a great price. Check this location out when you’re in Chicago or if you live here.
I give this place 5⭐️
Jerry (the pigeon) gives it 5.5⭐️

at the risk of sounding like a broken record, this was a simply amazing hot dog. it's fairly cheap at around $5, and the Chicago hot dog was stellar. The other reviews and its reputation are right on point! keep up the good work and keep those prices low!
I like Devil Dawgs a lot. The prices are fair and the food is really good. They have a good selection so even vegans can eat here.
Came here to satisfy my need for a Chicago Dog in Chicago. I picked the right place! A smaller joint it has a counter to eat at as well as some tables outside. We stood and enjoyed two fabulous Chicago Dogs with Tater Tots!
Great, fast service! Juan B was behind the counter moving food in and out with speed.
Highly recommend Devil Dawgs!
Awesome place! I got the vegan dog chicago style, and my husband got the chicago style with a bag of fries. Everything was soo good (esp the fries!). Prices are pretty cheap and a regular sized dog with fries is very filling. Will definitely be back to try the other dog styles.
Saw this place when searching for a hotdog joint on Google Maps. Went there looking for a sit down place but this was takeout only. There was a spot at the counter by the window so we were able to enjoy our food while we were there. I got the Big Chicago Dog, fries and a chocolate shake. Might be the best hot dog I’ve had. Shake was fantastic. Really enjoyed it will definitely go there again but would like to find a location with seating to sit down and relax after the long walk to get there.
The most important thing is “is the Chicago dog good?” and here it was great! Tried the big Chicago dog and the Maxwell Street Polish sausage. I liked them both but I loved the Chicago dog here. I woke up dreaming about it.
Small spot. Had to stand eating at a counter, but that was good because I didn’t drip mustard on my shirt. Clean spot. I’ll be back!
As a fairly recent new resident to Chicago (within the last 3 years), I think Devil Dawgs is up there when it comes to hot dogs in city.
Although I don't eat hot dogs often, I always know what to expect when I come to a Devil Dawgs, and this location in particular had a really friendly gentleman working the counter.
My friend was trying her first "authentic" Chicago dog ever and she loved it. I got something a little more spicy as recommended from the guy, and it was fantastic. Every bite was a amazing.
This particular location is small compared to others I have been to, so if you're not taking it to-go, expect to either stand by the window (they have a place to stand and eat with a surface to place your food), or eat outside on the patio which is probably mostly only recommended during the summer.
