Review Stan's Donuts & Coffee - Chicago

This place is great! However, the employees displayed impolite behavior while we were placing our order; the lady's constant unpleasant expression towards us was evident throughout. Despite this, the donuts are quite delicious, making it worth the experience.

Yummy donuts and coffee- Tried the Lotus donut and iced oat milk latte, and while the donut was just incredible, the coffee tasted a bit.. dilluted? Not much strength to the coffee and just very bland. Apart from this, the donut selection was mad and geninely wished I tried more!

The interior is colorful and inviting. The donuts are delectable ( I highly recommend the Gluten Free Blueberry), and their coffee options have yet to disappoint!

This red velvet cupcake was so delicious, one of the best cupcakes I’ve ever had. It was so fresh , flavorful and pure yummy !

Most important thing to start: real and good espresso coffee in this place. Along my espresso I had some sort of chocolate donut that doesn't have the standard shape, but it was very good. Last but not least, on a very hot day, they had a jar of ice cold water free to serve yourself. Nice touch.

I love to sample new donut shops and Stan’s did not disappoint! I sampled 3 kinds and they were all fabulous. Not greasy at all and extremely delicious. Will definitely return when I’m back in Chicago.

Delicious donuts and drinks. I loved the cinnamon sugar cake one and my husband liked the croissant one. The croissant one was filled -- we didn't realize that when we got it. The decaf mocha I got was very good. They made a mistake on my husband's frozen hot chocolate, but corrected it quickly and happily. 🙂 Very, very friendly staff. We loved our snack time there.

Donuts good. Coffee good. Frozen salted caramel hot chocolate good. The donuts I had were delicious. Oddly not as sweet as I expected. This was a good thing. The donuts that were labeled pockets, seem to be a form of cinnamon roll looking pastry. Mine was lacking in the filing part on one side, but the side with bits of Butterfinger was amazing. They really were delicious. My only issue which almost made me go "Karen," was the fact that the 5 people after me got their coffees before me and I got a little attitude when I asked about it. In the coffee makers defence, it was crazy busy. AND I needed caffeine.

Traveling should never be an excuse to miss out on Sunday donuts. Enjoyed @stansdonutschicago before the Chicago marathon... And after 🤤 Haul: $12.50 Open: Yearly Seating: indoor Parking: On-street. Order: 1/2 dz Pros: Donut shop was adorable, donuts were delicious, but we need to talk about this box. First off, the jolly pink design made everyone I walk by smile or turn around and walk towards Stan's. Also, the perforated corner makes it so you can grab a donut instead of opening the box every time you want another one and frankly I found the design incredibly innovative. Thank you for speeding up my calorie intake 🙏🏻 Cons: They are available on Goldbelly, which is what your tummy will be worth if you eat the whole dozen alone. I won't judge you either way after how many I ate. Also go early. I went mid afternoon and there were only two kinds left.

Review Date: November 26th, 2018 I stand by these delicious donuts. As my sister and I drove closer to our destination in Chicago, we spotted Stan’s and I made a mental note to check it out in the future. While I helped my sister with some family things, I found myself with about 90 minutes to kill. What did I do with that free time? Explored, of course. I pulled out my phone and found Stan’s on my GPS. Once it pointed me in the right direction to walk, I booked it there. Upon entering, I noticed how packed the place was for lunch. Not worrying about that, I hopped in line and started to pour over the selection of baked yummies they had on display. Not only did they have donuts but they had bagels and things I wouldn’t classify as either a bagel or donut. Being the ever-indecisive person that I am, I let a few people pass me in line as I couldn’t decide what I wanted. Once I saw the Peanut Butter Pocket, I instantly knew that is what I wanted. Peanut butter is my weakness. I ended up ordering that and a medium house roast coffee. While I was waiting for my coffee, I quickly snagged the last free table. Whew, I was worried I would have to eat my donut while walking around Chicago. After settling in, I went to town on the donut. It didn’t stand a chance against my hunger. While I didn’t eat all of it, I did put down most of it frighteningly quick. The only thing that was quicker was how sticky my hands got. Luckily there were plenty of napkins nearby. As for the donut itself, I did taste it while I vacuumed it down. Haha! It was filled with peanut butter, as I expected. It was pretty good. Donuts aren’t usually my think but if it’s a unique place like this, I will definitely make an exception. As the donut disappeared, I scoured the area on my phone for a place to grab lunch. Once I settled on a place, I quickly cleaned up the table and left since it was busy and I didn’t want to hog a spot. What about the coffee? I actually didn’t start drinking it until I got to Bombay Wraps. It was pipping hot and I used the cold walk to speed up the cooling down process. Once it cooled off, I was able to try it out. The coffee was on par for what you would expect for a house blend. It didn’t blow my socks off but it also didn’t disappoint either. It definitely warmed me up after the cold walk a few city blocks to my lunch destination. Chicago is a massive city. You could explore a new place every day and never run out of places to try. If you do undertake a massive quest like that, make sure you hit up Stan’s near the start of it. If you happen to find yourself in town for a day like I was, definitely stop in if you are craving a donut.

First time trying, wasn’t bad loved the chocolate chip cookie. My family also loved the donuts. This place is located inside the north western hospital. Place was very clean and smelled like goodies of course!! Didn’t try the coffee but you can also smell it upon entering the donut shop🥰the staffs were pleasant and patient!!

Good donuts, good coffee. And notably, very cute interior. This is my go to donut place to sit down and enjoy.

It’s bougie dunkin. But the donuts are fantastic. I found these donuts to be flavorful. Well balanced and over all - scrumptious!

Best donuts I have ever had so far! It's a very cute, small place to grab a donut and a pumpkin spice latte on the side. The lemon pistache classic donut tasted so good, it has such a fine bite and the taste was amazing (not too sweet luckily!).

Ahmad is an exceptional worker. Every time I stop by he makes the best frappe, is very welcoming, professional and kind! Thank you for such exemplary customer service!

They have a great selection of so-so donuts. The flavor is usually pretty good but they're on the hard side and, while good for dunking (if you're into that sort of thing), not as fun for eating. Their gluten free options are very limited and under the same glass as all the others. Additionally, the nuts options are also not separated, making it harder for those with nut allergies. I highly recommend the strawberry bismark - the almost creamy strawberry jam is delicious, sweet, and the bismark is nice and soft. Great with hot or iced coffee. I got the oat milk iced latte and was quite pleased. My regular elsewhere is a macchiato, but their latte was plenty good as a substitute.
