Not gonna lie they have pretty good food. I tried the lo mein which i thought was weird that a bar would have that, but it was delicious haha
Surprised. So my buddy and I walk-in to have a beer and maybe some cheap bar food. We were the only ones there on a Sunday afternoon. Clearly a sports bar and local hangout. Not setting my expectations too high, we ordered burgers and wings. Much to our surprise the burger was pretty damn good and the wings were rather large and tasty.
If you hit this joint during Happy Hour, burgers, with a side, are under $5. Very pleasant surprise. The bar keep, Mike, was rather cool and friendly. We will return!
Nice bar with plenty televisions for entertainment. The bartender Tabatha was pleasant, helpful and fast ! We were lucky to have ordered from the kitchen because it was late and had the wings - they were nice and not over cooked ! The beef and brocolli was fantastic. Absolutely delicious and I wouldn’t even think to have that at a bar but it was worth it
Cool little local bar. They haven't updated their menu for some time so I did it for you guys. Hillary was our bartender and was amazing, thanks young lady. They served me a really good sandwich the "smokin' blonde". Hillary, it was really good but not, "the best sandwich I have ever eaten..."
I will definitely come bad. If your in the area, come try them. ***RECOMMEND***
First time there. Looks like an ordinary bar. But it was so clean even the bathrooms were clean and the service was wonderful. And the food was delicious and well prepared. This place is a diamond in the rough. I would highly recommend it
Main reason why I'm giving this bar 5 stars:
1) Best clams i ever tasted... ever
2) customer service was good and bartender was nice.
This is a bar with your expected drinks/mixes however if you are looking for a large selection of beers, look somewhere else.
The kitchen food made up for the other shortcomings.
Great food, massive selection on the menu, and it truly doesn't matter what you order, apparently; for example, I have ordered to-go food there on 4 separate occasions, each time ordering something completely different from the last order...well these talented individuals made meals for me and my family fit for ROYALTY! If you haven't found this slightly hidden GEM here in Charlotte, you should really stop in and check them out...if you choose to peruse their menu, you will certainly be astounded at what Tavern 51 can produce, and in closing, ITS GOING TO TASTE BETTER THAN YOU COULD IMAGINE!

A group of 15 showed up and put in a large order, a decent stress test.
Bartender taking our order multitasked like a champ and the food came out great. Good portions and everyone loved what they got. Pretty impressive given the menu variety.
Great place to get some late-night mozzarella sticks! Also an extensive menu and the kitchen stays open later than a lot of nearby restaurants!
Dont let the neighborhood bar/club look inside fool you. Food here is amazing. The best Chinese food I have ever had. Drinks are delicious. Worth every penny. Atmosphere is definitely more on the bar side than restaurant although, It doesn't take away from the amazingness that Tavern 51 brings to the table.
PS: Tavern 51 had 2 arcade machines with many of the classics games from the 80's and 90's set to free play.
