Absolutely the best BBQ place I've been too. They were so friendly, actually talked to my daughter and niece about their food. Never been to a place that asks the kids about their food. Waitress was very sweet, constantly checked on us. I highly recommend this place!!!
Amazingly friendly and helpful staff. The best bbq I’ve had in a long time! Very clean place! Would recommend to anyone who thinks they’ve had good bbq. Also did I mention the awesome biscuits
Chips are really good and so are the riblets. The pulled pork is good as well. The habenero sauce is recommended. The service was quick but needed to be more attentive. Recommended.
Pretty disappointed considering how good the reviews are. I got eastern NC pork. While the flavor of the vinegar sauce was good there was nothing super spectacular about it. Ive had better eastern NC pork elsewhere. My wife got spare ribs. They were fine but again not great. Collard greens were very good. Mac n cheese just ok and the cheese biscuits (more accurately cheese muffin), were just weird. Overall considering how much we paid it didn't stand out.
The BBQ is really good. I had the beef. Other family members had the pork. It was really tasty, and the portions were plentiful. The mac & cheese was cheesy - very good. The slaw was great. I'm told the bake beans have some zing. The local craft IPA was a perfect match. This is part of a southern chain, but you wouldn't know it by the quality of the food.
My favorite dine out meal while down in Charlotte last weekend. I couldn't leave NC without having some BBQ. We stopped by Jim & Nicks early before the dinner rush and they gave our party one of the large corner booths. Our server was on the ball with water and and some corn bread from the get go. Then taking our drink and dinner orders.
I went with their Classic Style Chopped Pork BBQ sandwich and it was delicious! Along with that I ordered fresh cut fries and baked beans. After doing the initial tasting I added their Spicy BBQ Sauce to the sandwich and wow did that add some POP to it. The fresh cut fries were delicious and the baked beans were infused with BBQ. Just really really good stuff here! The meal was a home run!
I wish I had picked up a bottle of their Spicy sauce and after taking a look at their website I found that you can buy it online. w00t!
All in all an excellent stop for dinner. I can't wait to go again and wish they had a J&N closer to home back here in Norfolk, VA.
Smoked Beef Brisket!. I always enjoy trying different NC BBQ joints when visiting the Charlotte area on business. So many choices we all went with the Meat and Two Trimmings combo. The sliced Beef Brisket was so tender and just the right amount of smokiness. The Pulled NC BBQ was overdone, and even adding sauce really did not bring it back to life. The Mac N Cheese had a nice spicy kick to it, the coleslaw which was vinegar based was dried out. Enjoyed the cheese biscuits and the rib lets to start. Service was good, had a nice selection of beer both the usual domestics, and OMB Micro Copperhead, which went well with our BBQ.
Food and service is always great! We go all the time, but our last trip was kind of a let down. Our waitress was rarely at the table. At one time we were ready to go and we didn't see her for 30 minutes!
Can't go wrong. They do it right every time I've been there. Its elevated and well executed food. Last time I went we got some hots links, which are fabulously spicy and flavorful, mac and cheese, which just made me happy and the 1920 cheeseburger, which like a lot of really good things is simple, fresh and well-prepared. Rarely have I enjoyed a burger and mac cheese so much.
After traveling all over a 50 mile radius of Charlotte searching for the best "Q", Jim N Nicks Steele Creek takes it. Hell, they hit it out of the park! It isnt NC barbeque though. They are from Alabama so don't go expecting a pepper/vinegar or mustard based sauce. Regardless, its the best around y'all!!

First time here. Seated immediately, served within 10 min. Got the classic pulled pork BBQ with 2 sides. Server attentive, loved the casual relaxed atmosphere. Recommend!
The collard greens and mac & cheese are great, but the cheese biscuits are incredible! Try the homemade lemonade! Service is solid. You might have to wait a while depending on the time of day, but the pulled pork and brisket are worth it!
Delicious food! I had the salad with smoked chicken...the chicken was moist, tender, and delicious. Luis served us with finesse! I will definitely be back!

I ordered here twice and both times were to-go orders so I really can’t speak too much on service. When I’ve come to pick up my food, there wasn’t anyone at the register but a few minutes wait they would get my name and bring my order right out. Each time I placed an order online, the food was ready on time.
My first visit, I ordered the two meat plate. Short ribs and pulled pork. Huge box of food. It comes with two sides. I opted for the Mac n cheese and collard greens. With the two meat option, you can choose what kind of sauce you want for each meat that comes on the side. I ordered the regular bbq sauce which was a little sweet and tart. The pulled pork was dry and not much flavor. The short ribs were delicious!!! The Mac n cheese was average and creamy. The collard greens were also delicious. The star of the meal was the cheddar biscuits OMG!!! They are little mini biscuits but they were so fresh and soft, a little sweet. I thoroughly enjoyed those biscuits with my meal.
The second trip, I got the short ribs with double fries. It comes with like 3/4 ribs but they were chopped up so it seemed like more. The fries were okay. One would have been enough for me, I just didn’t want any other sides like baked beans, slaw, Mac n cheese or greens. The ribs were good without the sauce but I did put a little bit on a couple of the ribs. The ribs are a good size and worth the price. Again, it comes with two biscuits and they were fresh and delicious. A consistent flavor on both visits.
I will try the brisket on my next visit. Definitely has become my go to spot for ribs and biscuits.
I purchased a “30$ Three meats plate “off of their uber eats menu. I was very let down the portions were alot smaller then id normally receive dining in. I dont understand. DINING IN Is normally a pleasure! Would you pay 30$
Sierra and Maribeth have excellent customer service skills!!! Very busy night and they were short staffed. Both handled the crowd easily and remained friendly throughout it all. Foods always good, I’ve been coming here for years.
So this time around, it's not so good. Food cold. Informed waitress. She took back, and it gets sent back a second time colder. We ask for it to be boxed. Waitress says she spoke with GM. I'm not happy at all with this visit. I've taken back several hundred dollars in potatoes but never again. Unappreciated!
As an African American woman potato salad means everything. When I tell you the potato salad at Jim N Nick's tastes like your southern mama made it 😋 ,I'm not kidding. The potato salad is so good I wondered if my mama was in their kitchen. The cheese biscuits are better than red lobster but back to the potato salad. You can order it for a party it's that good Jim and Nick's should have already started selling this potato salad in the grocery store next to Bob Evans because Bob Evans has nothing on this potato salad trust me so if you're stopping through or you're in the area try to potato salad get those cheese biscuits I am not steering you wrong.
Food was awesome definitely recommend the turkey, pulled chicken and the catfish.
To complement the great food we had an awesome server Luis. He treated us like family made our experience spectacular.

Also if it’s your first time take his recommendations. Can’t tell you how refreshing it is for someone to hear you and understand that dining should be fully enjoyable.
tl;dr: Incredible spot for drive thru BBQ and chicken.
I have been coming to this place for at least a decade and it has remained consistent in quality and food options. Great BBQ and chicken, and their cheese biscuits are incredible.
Recently, we had a couple hiccups on some orders, but a manager has either resolved everything or reached out personally. Super impressed. Definitely recommend.
