We love this place! The food is outstanding (crepes are my favorite), employees are all friendly and helpful, and owners are down-to-earth. They come out and visit with customers. We go there quite frequently. We’re snowbirds, so only get to eat there in the summer. And their ice cream shop is also a winner. I love to see locals succeed.
The egg and ham crepe was unique to me but so tasty that, if I lived closer, I'd love to have one often. The flavor and texture of the cheesecake is heavenly!!! The latte was perfect. It's worth the 40+ mile drive to That French Place! I am looking forward to a return visit.
The food was incredible!! The had lots of different crepes and pastries to offer. The drinks were pretty good, all iced drinks come with coffee ice cubes which can ruin a tea but overall it was great. The staff was very kind and it did not take long for the food to come out. However, it was kind of cramped inside so I recommend sitting outside or sitting somewhere else in the town. Overall, definitely a 5 star breakfast spot.
Absolutely scrumptious crepes, got the ham and Swiss. The coffee is great as well strong and very aromatic.
Hummmm. C'est si bon.
(Update a year later. This is stille one of our favorite).
If I close my eyes and take a bite of the buckwheat - know as a Galette - hearing the seagull on That French place patio... I would believe I am seating by the seashore in a place dear to me: Brittany. More exactly Le pays Bigouden. This is where my parents lives, this is where I grew up with delightful food crepes, patisserie and more.
You might find it expensive, this is not. This is pure luxury, pure buttery happiness. The owner are gentle, respectful and kind. The staff is wonderful. Success well deserved. Full on five stars.
Lovely little French bakery! We went during the off-season of tourism, so not a long wait. They do take orders online. Favorite was croissant and cinnamon roll!
I read so much about this place. Couldn't wait to try it. The staff were great, no complaints. I guess the food was just different than I expected. My husband's crepe was pretty good (savory). The lemon crepe I got was ok (kinda soggy, but I was starving). They didn't have any inside seating and it was kinda chilly outside. Probably my fault for not doing my homework. I still recommend you check it out, just know what you're getting.
I ordered online on a Sunday morning. When I came to pick up our crepes they were warm and ready. The young lady who got our food was friendly.
I got the ham, egg, and cheese crepe, my son got the Nutella crepe. Both were delicious. There isn't a lot of space for dining, but it's great food for walking around or sitting at a bench. We'll definitely be back next summer.
Had the Spinach and Mushroom crepe and the Cinnamon and Sugar crepe along with a bunch of pastries. Everything was delicious but my favorites were the Cinnamon and Sugar crepe, the Cinnamon rolls and the Kouign Amann. Delicious. Love the thin crispy crepe texture. And all the flaky layers of the pastries. Worth a stop when you're in the area. I don't think there's a bad choice here.
Stopped by for a breakfast of crepes and coffee. It was great! I wish they had a bigger restaurant so dining indoors was possible, but if the weather is nice the crepes are packed up in such a way that you can eat on the go.
The cheesecake is definitely a European recipe! Light cheese and fluffy!
Must try their buckwheat savory crepes, got the spinach mushroom feta with eggs. The spinach was a little overwhelming will ask for light spinach and little more eggs and cheese next time.
The cinnamon sugar crepe is one of the best things I have ever had in my life. Warm and buttery goodness. I stop here every time we pass through Charlevoix- the crepes are incredible!
