I had THE BEST scallops of my life!!! I would go back just for that. The oysters were delicious as well. Everyone loved everything they ate! My dad had the fry plate and my husband had the fried chicken sandwich. I will be dreaming about those oysters for a long time.

The Happy Hour menu was limited beyond the oysters. Overall, the food was great, and so was the service. The shrimp and grits with Brussel Sprouts were delicious! I also enjoyed the Key Lime pie.

Tasty brunch with loaded bloody Mary’s and great seafood options. I had the shrimp and grits, which were good but I’m not an expert (so don’t hold me to it). The bloody was awesome. Hush puppies are bomb. Overall would eat here again when in Charleston, but will be a while before we return.

The Darling Oyster Bar was an awesome experience. Not only for their delectable food, but also for their wonderful waiters. We also met so many wonderful people. We laughed and had a great time! My husband had Annands oysters and seared diver scallops. I had the blue crab tagliatelle. All I need to say is...we are going back for more. It was amazing and our waiter Michael P. was super-fabulous. My husband and I came back for another dinner before heading back home. Our food was delicious and our waiter this time was Zack, another great guy. Thank you.

My family went for happy hour for their unbeatable oyster prices. It was $1 for 1 type of oyster (can’t beat that)! We also ordered the clam chowder over fries (such a great appetizer). I would suggest coming a bit earlier if you want to get in the happy hour menu! Staff was amazing and the atmosphere was too! I would recommend coming here to any seafood lover.

The restaurant makes an impact on the street, which is what goes us through the door. I didn't expect the building to be split in half; one half the sexy restaurant on the street and the other as an afterthought behind the bar and curtain. The atmosphere on the half we were seated felt like a dungeon, but the other half looked nice? The food was decent, with some nice fresh/fried seafood options. No real problems, but nothing is mind-blowing. The happy hour menu is weak, offering $1.00 off a couple of light drinks. The only complaint was the staff. I've never seen so many people doing absolutely nothing. They walk back and forth with empty hands and without checking on tables. Our server spends ages explaining mundane details for ages but then does the same thing for an entire section, which made for impossible slow service. It's glitz and glamor.

First time enjoying dinner at The Darling. We enjoyed the oysters during happy hour. We did 24 James River Oysters and one of each other oyster and got the fry basket shrimp with Cod. Definitely coming back again for those oysters!

Wonderful brunch. We loved the Bloody Mary’s. We had the captains that came with 2 shrimp, a lobster claw, a crab leg and a hot fresh hush puppy. Almost a meal in and of itself. We also shared the shrimp and grits and the fried chicken and biscuit. The food was fantastic and the service was great to. The dinning room is beautiful. Will definitely return next time we are in Charleston.

This place has such delicious food. We couldn’t stop eating all of the oysters. They have a huge selection and something for everyone! The smoked salmon dip was also so creamy and full of smoky flavors. The hush puppies as a side dish might have been my favorite outside of every oyster I ate. They were some of the best I’ve ever had and were HUGE. I could’ve eaten them all night. I also got the lobster roll which was good but genuinely think this place is made for those oysters! If you want good ones, GET YOURSELF THERE!

Were able to walk up and snag and spot at the bar! Great cocktails, delicious oysters, and wonderful service. Cool spot on king street with large windows and tightly packed seats that made for a fun atmosphere. The clam chowder fries and crab dip were both excellent options. Would definitely eat here again. Numerous folks around us were eating there the 2nd night in a row.
