A must visit. I came here on my culinary trip where I visit different cities and basically indulge in the local cuisine. Obviously after dining mostly Southern and steakhouses I had to break it up with Spanish food for two reasons. 1. I needed something else to eat but more importantly is… 2. I am latin from Miami and I have traveled and lived in Spain so I was curious on the quality and interpretation along with the presentation of this menu in Charleston. When I walked in I felt right at home. I loved that they kept the integrity of traditional Spanish cuisine and made the menu simple. I am happy they didn’t do fusion. (Even though a Cochinillo or Pork Belly Chunks over grits would be amazing.) I also had a great server that was French and spoke Spanish which for me is a plus because menus as such need authenticity with culture behind it serving it. Love it. A must visit.

Some of the best tapas we’ve had outside of Spain… typically tortilla is a little dry and bland but this one was fabulous!!! And the bomba was loaded with flavor. Very nice servers and cute dining room. If we lived in Charleston this place would be a regular!!

Delicious, grab lots to eat, because there are plenty of different tastes to try. Everything from the land to the sea and lots of potato dishes in between. All the food is seasoned well and comes out quickly, would recommend.

We walked in and out were seated at the bar. Lindsay waited on us and she was absolutely fantastic! Friendly, great recommendations, and knowledgeable about the area. I’m so glad we made this our first stop for our anniversary weekend. The food also was superb. We didn’t get much, but from what we had, I’m confident the rest of the menu is just as fabulous.

Called ahead to ensure we could dine outside (we decided to bring our dog). Thankfully, they offered outside seating. Unfortunately, the mosquitos were also dining out. It wasn't until the end of our dining experience that the staff were kind enough to light a citronella candle. The food was delicious. One thing is for sure, the tapas aren't American portioned 😅 In other words, expect SMALL yet delicious apps.

A variety of surprising and delicious flavors in a cozy, casual atmosphere await you at Malagon. We loved every bite! Our waiter, Tripp, was excellent and explained the new things we wanted to try. Perfect service and food! The wine list was superb as well!

Definitely better than what I expected. Bread was cold could have been warmer. Asked for some of the garlic dip stuff for it but they refused. They call roasted shishito peppers something funny, trying to be a bit fancy. Patata bravas were nice. Chicken was ok, skin side tasted a bit tough and hard but the meat was cooked and not over cooked. The egg and potatoe omelette was nicely done.

One of my favorite restaurants in Charleston. Very authentic Spanish food, knowledgeable staff and great service. We had a lot of food when we went and everything was good! Our most favorite dishes were: boquerones (although they only give you 3), carrilleras, cod croquetas, basque cheesecake and pan con chocolate. Their bread is amazing and they have a nice wine list too! Our waitress was very good, knowledgeable and friendly. A few things I would change would be a bit less olive oil in the pan con chocolate, and make the pulpo a bit more tender (the thicker parts were a bit chewy). Other than that, it was great. We'll definitely go back when we visit Charleston again!

WOW! We loved our meal at Malagon. This had been on our list to try for awhile after eating at Chez Nous but had we known it was going to be as good as it was we would have gone sooner!! This the full package - they helped us adjust our reservation due to a delayed flight, welcomed us and had us wait as a standing bar while our table cleared out, and then provided AWESOME recommendations on what to order, and how much to order. Every single thing we had was perfect. We have family that lives in Spain and thus have had a good amount of Spanish food and this was right up there with the best of it. Last, and certainly not least, were the desserts. We thought about them all week and the cheesecake and churros were the best any of us had ever had. A huge thank you to Malagon for the experience and keep up the great work! HIGHLY recommend.
